I know everyone is sick of hearing about the flatline but here i go anyway.(YES i did do a search before writing this) I want a good OVERALL barrel.I came down to the flatline and ultralite. The one reason i dont have a flatline right now is the worry of performance in speedball. I am a back player and would like the extra distance but i dont like the idea of the ball curving when the gun is not straight.ANY help is appreciated.

If i were you i would go wit the Ultralite though i have no experience with it. I do have some experience with a flatline. It is only good if you can get your barrel perfectly strait. It a good idead just a pain in the . Good Luck:D

Flatline is, um, stupid.

Get an Ultralite.

Ultralight. There's no real benefit to Flatline. Distance isn't that great.

no, you're thinking of the 98c's flatline. the a-5 flatline doesn't have to be aligned. however, whichever gun you have, the flatline, IMO, an expensive novelty at best, and a pain in the ^$$ at worst.

FLATLINE IS 21 INCHES!!! lol!!! you cant use tat for speed ball, use a 14 inch ul or 16 inch ul. the reason i say 14or16 is cuz you can use them to help you stay tighter around bunkers.

hmm well 14 is pretty long, 16 would be reaaally long. and longer isn't neccesarily better. its up to u i guess.

actually the a-5 FL is 8.5 and the 98 FL is 12, shorter than 14 or 16, and can be used in speedball. But if your wanting one mainly for speed then get the 14in ultralite

Ball spin = crappy accuracy. Sure it goes far put the pattern is huge. Also, in speedball, you just don't need the added distance. I can almost "flatline" a ball from one end of the field to the other w/ my 12" CP.

I think ULs are usually overpriced. CPs are some nice barrels for quite a bit less if you wanna save some $$$.

Never heard that one before. Mind explaining the physics of it to me? And i've personaly tested and could consistantly hit a 12 in grouping at 185 ft (smaller groupings at smaller ranges)...seems like good accuracy to me considering most barrels cant even reach that far. And if you read my whole first post i did recomend the ultralite if he was playing mostly speed, but flatline if he also likes to lay woods.

flatline creates backspin, and i've tried a flatline b4, that things flies everywhere. not literally but you know what i mean.

Lol, paint won't break at 185 feet... 1/10 if you're lucky. That's why not too many intelligent people fall for the flatline gimmick.. useless range isn't worth having.
