Could we be anymore dumb here? Im going to petition against the maker of my gun. those online petitions dont do anything. Its called business you want to make money so you can pay all of the people who work for you more. People put patents on things all of the time and its AKA's fault that they copied of SP's electronics. To bad for them maybe they should've been a little smarter in the business world. :king: = SP and :tombstne: = AKA. So you can go away now :paperbag:
THANK YOU.

I mean you are in an Impulse forum, and clearly everyone in here uses and apparently likes SP's products...I could care less about AKA, ICD, AGD, or of the other companies that got burned, b/c I simply don't use their products and probably never will.

I know I posted up in the AKA forums about all this, and I have been thinking and now I've decided to stay neutral in this whole issue....so sthu and leave. you are pushing an old issue, and yes dont post this in the SP forum where we support SP.

lol dude how could you expect to flame sp, come to this forum and expect to be not flamed at... i'm not agreeing with SP's action but i'm not against them because they would care less about what I or anyone else has to say about them... a petition? Great idea! ........................ if it actually works  but like everyone says... leave something that's dead as it is :tombstne:

You're Dumb, everything Smart Parts did was 190% legal. It was AKA's fault for not checking all the parts they used to make their item. Take your Meaningless Petition someplace else that has more people to waste their time signing their 18 year old names on your paper of legal hate.

True it was legal, but that does not make it good a good Public Relation move. What I want to know is did Smart Parts already have the Patents for like 5 years, or did they just now come out and Patent stuff from 5 years ago then start sueing everyone who was currently making things that the vioalate the patent. I have heard rumor that some of the things they tried to patent was as stupid as ON?OFF switch on a marker.
Anyway, I wish I knew in some detail of what really happened. You get a lot of rumor, and no facts sometimes.
Impys still rock, SP no longer does, my next marker will be a Impulse still....

This is a nation of laws, to which we are all subject. If Smart Parts was not right, they would not be able to enforce their patents. Just because someone is basically an anarchist is not good enough for me, or the US legal system. Get over it. SP is right, patent infringers are wrong. I haven't seen prices go up recently on electros, in fact they seem to be going down! I'm willing to bet that the royalties that they have begun to collect per gun would not buy you a lunch at Mickey D's.

Stop being a bunch of (see above).
(Also, for those of you who do not know much about patents: Their is a principle called "previous art". It means that if someone else has used it previously, you can't patent it. Also if you invent something and use it for over 1 year in commerce without patenting it, it can not be patented by you or anyone else. There are no "retroactive" patents.)

Another example of this is what coca cola did. When they first invented there drink they did not patent it because they were confident that no one would figure out there formula and no one did so what Ivar said has happened before
