Ok.. here is my situation.. I can either get this setup for a timmy:
Green Intimidator
Green Psycho Ballistics Gas Thru Foregrip
Green Psycho Ballistics Drop Forward
Green 12v Revy
Crossfire 68/4500 550psi preset tank
Two Ashcroft 300 Psi gauges
That basically is $1000.. (and is Mikes setup from COuntry Paintball)
Or i can get a Black Magic with the following:
Blue Black Magic
Blue 12v Revy
Pure Energy (havnet decided about which tank) 68/4500 preset tank
And some gauges.....
That also basically comes to $1000.. I would probably get a Freak/Hinge for the cocker in the future...
WHAT WOULD YOU DO!?

I would personally pick the BM. But i wouldn't get the black magic at all. The sto is the same thing just w/out the 15 degree asa and cool milling.
So out of the STO and the Intimidator.
rough estimates
sto 650
pmi pure energy 68ci 4500 psi 210
hinge 90
12v revvy 50
Thats $1000 right there. But its all personal preference. Do you want an electronic gun or more mechanical? Its your call.

The BM is ten times better than an STO. It has more Range and is more accurate and the angle of the ASA gives you more accuracy as well. And it's quieter as well.
People will try and lie to you about the black magic and say stuff like "Internally it's pretty much an STO. It doesnt really offer any performance upgrades and certainly doesnt compare to other custom cockers in it's price range". Those people are stupid and you shouldnt listen to them.
Intimidators are great though, faster, just as accurate, no short stroking and electros are just plain fun :D

Timmy, have you shot one yet? If not, run out and shoot one before you buy any cocker.

Twitch, how does the 15 degree asa help performance? I assume its not just the angle giving the performance right?

AHHH!!! I dont know waht to do!!!!! Ive shot both.. The timmy has speed.... but the BM has accuracy...... but the timmy is electic.... but the BM has range...... but the Timmy costs $100 less than the BM.... but the BM looks damn cool....... but the timmy has damn good accuracy tooooo
Or i could just go with a STO like everybody tells me and use leftover money for a hinge.... AHHHHHHHHH:crazy:

I vote Intimidator. I don't know much about either, but I will say the Timmy doesn't need to be timed, adjusted, etc. I've seen fewer Timmys go down than autocockers. Every minute there must be a autococker somewhere in the world that goes down.

twitch, you need to be more obvious about that kind of stuff. :) it was late and I was drugged up on painkillers. heh. Plus you mixed it in with the serious comment about the timmy. :eyes: I was thinking the 15 degree asa had a higher flow rate or something...I dunno, I might be neurotic but I've heard of people drilling their asa's to get more air-flow through them?
elTwitcho
10-21-2001, 04:00 PM
yeah but that only works if you have a flow problem to start with. Spyders are typical of this problem, but higher end markers meant to run at lower pressures dont really need that kind of work

BM, sorry but the timmy has just not impressed me at all. Yes, the gun has some nice features but from the timmys I have shot and from what I've seen from some of my friends who own timmys, I would definatly go with the cocker.

I'm usually always on your side but not this time. BM doesn't have more range than a sto. If the velocities are the same so are the ranges. If you think the BM and STO are so different then tell me the diferences besides the 15 degree asa adapter that makes it more precise (this gos out to Richy, accuracy is the player, precision is the gun) and quieter, LOL . A BM more precise than a STO? Come on.

Gotta go with magicsly1 on this. ALL guns at same fps have the same range.
Both guns have good regs= consistent shots.
If you are going to get an aftermarket barrel, that is the only other factor.
Having been on the recieving end of both guns, I can attest to the accuracy of both. The first time I came under serious fire from a timmy, I was shocked at how tight the grouping was at long range. I was getting missed to the right side of my mask, but the thing was, about 8 balls wizzed by me in the same space. If he had aimed about 2 inches to the left, I would have been gogged 8 times.

I love my Intimidator. I've shot a lot of different guns. There's just something about the Intimidator that FEELS so much better than those other guns. It's fast, reliable, accurate.... just great.

Hey now, that was entirely uncalled for considering....

when using sarcasm please apply the sarcasm tags:
"sarcastic phrase goes here"
for example:
STO's are better than BM cockers because they are more accurate because STO stands for Standard Tournament Operations and BM means Black Magic and you have to have an accurate marker for tournaments
i apologize for the horrific example but i hope you understand the jist of the sarcasm tags.
Thank You
No really, Thank You.

I was using sarcasm too with the 15 degree asa. I wouldn't want to diss you like that you are still one of the best moderaters. Next time i'll use the [sarcasm] thing.

Bleh my bad then. I say alot of stupid things, but never as dumb as "A Black Magic shoots farther" so I just wanted to make sure nobody got confused and thought me an idiot (which I am, but for different reasons). my mistake

We all do. My dad is getting an intimidator in about 4 months i think. He's been studying them. Cocker and Timmi are both a good choice. But buy by personal preference. Thats always the best thing to do.

I have been reading up on every gun imaginable for the past 2 months.. First i wanted the black magic.. then a Vision Impulse package, then an intimidator package... now im back to undecided (either a STO or Timmy).... Its just not fair....:( :bawling: Now everyone will say "its personal preference" I LIKE THEM ALL THE SAME!!!!! The pros and cons come to about even.........
I dont know what to dooooooo AHAHAH Bwahahah HAhshahshahahsasjaakldfghsdjklgs

They have the same range (along with every gun) and are both just as loud.

i know it's not one of the options, but if i were you i'd check out the matrix. it's very cool. my younger brother is in the market for a new gun. he started out wanting a cocker, but i talked him out of it, then he wanted a timmy, i also talked him out of that. i did however read up a bit on the matrix and talk him IN to that.
"what is the secret method of persuasion used" you ask?
i simply told him i'd be jealous if he bought the matrix. :D
