View Full Version : Certain Guns with certain power sources...

I was wondering if there are certain guns that must use N2 and cannot use CO2. Right now I have a Spyder Xtra but I was thinking of getting a N2 tank for it. Would it work.

To answer your 1st question, Most high end markers highly recommend N2 only. 2 main reasons for this.
1. When u shoot really fast it chills the gun down to very low temparetures.
2. If the gun sucked up liquid CO2, it would pretty much destory the selinoid. This doesnt always happen, but very likely.
They say u can use a Anti-syphon tube on a co2 tank and it wont hurt anything, but it will still get cold.

Some gund cannot run on CO2. Even if you use an antisyphon...

Mags (with the exception of classic valves), angels, Matricies...and a few more i'm likely forgetting.

Pretty much any high end electro marker should not be run off co2, it will damage the marker.
Markers like:
Timmies
Trixes
03 shockers
ebladed cockers
RT valved mags
angels
bushies
Vikings/excals
...etc

as a matter of fact i would recommend N2 over Co2 anyday!
N2 is cleaner and more consistent(cause of the regulator, which in turn is why they are mad expensive!) and the more consistent the more accurate
but if u needa save some $$$ just have ur CO2 anti-syphoned and that will work fine on ANY spyder

BKOs can be run off anti-siphoned CO2 just fine, and according to some article smoewhere, the 03 shocker can run CO2. The latter I don't believe for a moment, but I've heard of people running BKOs no problem with anti-siphoned CO2.
Anti-siphoned being the key though.

Yes the BKOs can run of A/S co2, but i was referring to the higher end B2k4 and bushmasters, it is highly discouraged from using co2 for them.

Basically I wouldn't suggest running co2 on anything except blowbacks ie: fishies, spyders, excellorators, tippmans, excluding the omen. But nitro if fine for all markers, just don't switch back and forth between nitro and Co2in one day or you will blow orings like crazy.

Ahh, gotcha.
Hence the "bushys" designation. :)

Smart Parts designed the 03 shocker with the ability to run off CO2. In a review in PGI I think, that is what they listed as a "pro" to it, and it was also listed as something it has in common with the old shockers.

But would you really want a co2 tank on a spankin new shocker. The shootdown would be fierce too, co2 tanks don't have a particularily fast recharge rate.

i doubt very much the recharge rate of any regulator will surpass the recharge rate of the actuall gass!:eyes:
in reply: on a spyder i would just stick with co2 and buy some other upgrades, i think a barrel kit would help your game much more, i'm never gonna buy n2 unless i get an electro pnuematic.
i run my cocker on co2 and it works just fine, then again i'm not a consistency freak. :|
