What is the purpose of each stage, etc. Single stage is cosmetic, right? So what benefits and differences are there between stages?

Also, I noticed that eryk reccomends a regulator over an expansion chamber...what would you reccomend in that dept. for a 98?

With expansion chambers the more stages the more time there is for the liquid to expand the gas.
Most people would tell you just to go with a regulator if you have the money to do so.
The usual recommendation is for a Palmer.
;) With a little searching you'd have gotten that I'm sure. :D
I don't really have much beyond that to give you. Maybe someone else can chime in with something more definitive if it suits you.

The multiple stages give time for the co2 to expand. It makes the co2 go through a "maze" of stages, in a way. They are pretty effective at that.
Benefits between stages, I'm pretty sure most people recommend the 6-8 stages more than any others. I'd say that is because it gives the co2 optimal time to expand, but doesn't overdo it.
And as for regs, if you're running on co2, the Palmers Stabilizer is one of the best regs to use. Depending on which you prefer, there is the male and female versions of this reg (for descriptions, there was a thread posted today asking about it).
Do a search for more info. :)
