semis hurt just as much as your talon as long as it is at the same velocity. The only things that increase pain are higher velocity and more balls fired at you. Believe me, 15 balls hert more that 1 ball.

And try to stay farther if you don't want it to hurt as much. Getting hit point blank will put a big welt on you.
The type of paint being shot dramatically affects how much it will hurt.
Diablo Blaze Winter paint is the most painfull paintball i've ever experienced. The shell is super thick.

just do what I do.....try not to get hit....
the velocity and distance depends on how bad it will hurt. i gave some kid a giant welt on his neck from shooting him 3 times in the neck from like 6 feet away. he was being a *** though and deserved it. i aggree that winter paints hurt more. i've been shot with polar ice paint...but it wasn't enough to leave a welt cause i had lots of layers on cause it was cold.

Just do what i do, start to panic, get your adrenalin running, then your brain will release some endorphins ( natural pain killers ), so then when you get shot, it wont hurt! ( until next morning )
Maybe its just me, and I have a high tolerance for pain, but I don't think they hurt at all. The only ones that ever hurt were 1 I took to the forehead, and that only hurt a few seconds, and one on the end of the thumb, which did not bust and left a big blood blister which still remains. I even have big bruises and welts and they don't even hurt the next day. Maybe I'm just made for paintball ;)

Any shot that contacts the skin and breaks no matter how far you are will leave a welt or red mark.
