This is about my 7th time out using my M98, just got my J&J Full Tilt Ceramic. My gun "jammed" twice today. The bolt went about a fourth of the way forward and jammed, the trigger was not reset. I had to reach forward and pull the bolt back. The first time it happened, it didnt bother me that bad, the second time i had a clear shot at a running opponent, shot a ball, and it jammed. It has nothing to do with chopping the balls in the feedneck, and they do not bust in the barrel. I take my gun apart when i get home after every day of playing.

Is this a common problem? Should i use more oil? An employee at Sports Authority told me to use normal household oil, not hoppes. He said Hoppes is the same thing just more expensive.

I can take pictures of my internals if needed.

*this question belongs in the barrel forum, but when i shoot with my new J&J, so much co2 is ejected from the porting that i can hardly see where my paintball flew.

Thanks alot

yes, my co2 was completely full, after the jams i could shoot 100 balls no problem. I still have excess co2 in the tank

If he meant household oil as in food oil, then NO. Either use Hoppes or a specific paintball oil. Neither will mess up your gun o-rings.

Yeah, keep your gun oiled. Don't worry about the problem though. It happens to me sometimes when I get firing fast. It's no biggie.

I just checked my ball detent, it was in correctly. I use household 3 in 1 oil, not cooking oil :)

1. go shoot the guy at sports authority for telling you to use household oil.

2. check the valve orings on the side. is your gun jamming in? or is it going full auto?

could your front bolt oring have swelled up and is getting jammed in the barrel?

If it's doing what I think it's doing then mine did the same thing for a while.
I think that the front bolt is pinching the balls sort of.
What I'd do first is polish the internals(the front half as well) and then go get an electro hopper. I think that will solve your problem. As for the oil just use hoppes it's good stuff and does the job well, and a small bottle of it will last you a very long time.

That's a good idea to check that to.

i've never really had any problems with it, but a few of my friends will have that happen to them once or twice a day...nothing big
