Polishing Lightning bolt

I have an AKA lightning bolt, and it doesn't look too great and it really sucks up oil, so could I polish it? What would I need and what would I need to do? And yes, I have read the stickies and have looked at Otter SC Customs.

its allumium right? ....if so....800 grip paper if it is scared...and 1000 if it isnt....but sand in circles...not a whole lot just to smooth out imperfections....then use motheres mag allumium polish and w/out excessive force With a clean rag rub it in....then w/ a clean rag wipe it off....Get all this stuff at an automotive store......you can but sume polish (NO SANDING) on the inside of the body also
