ok, what does different types of porting effect? can some styles even have a bad effect on your accuracy? how would porting down the entire length of the berral be different from just the last 1 inch or so? what about low pressure guns? how do those come into the picture? basically, id like to know any info you guys may have on porting for barrels. thx for any help.

This is what i know: Porting CANNOT affect accuracy what so ever.
Porting in the whole barrel rather than just the muzzle (last inch or so) would most likely be quieter (less air to quiet when it reaches the muzzle) But it will decrease efficiency.
It depends on how low pressure your gun is. If your gun is sub 100 psi you really need to worry about porting. The idea of low pressure is that you need every ounce of gass you have so a ton of porting is a no no. But if your pressure isnt extremely low, you shouldnt see that much effiecency loss. Just dont use barrels like the All American or Teardrop.
Some one answer me this: Will porting lower range? I have asked thid b4.

Maybe. Like you said above, too much porting and the gas will escape before the ball reaches its max speed, thus giving it a shorter range. If you taped close all the porting holes in your barrel you would probably not notice much of an increase in range.

porting will lower pressure.
pressure and flow make up the velocity. so if you have real low pressure, and then you have way to much porting the pressure will get to low wher no matter how high the flow the velocity won't be there.
Mike....
velocity effects range.
All taped up ports will make your gun louder.

OK.... if low pressure lowers the noise... and porting lowers the noise... if i get a ported MUZZLE (last 2 inches) and a NON PORTED extension... (middle 8 inches) than it SOMEWHAT be the same as a ported extension + muzzle with normal pressure? Sorry if im confusing you... the whole extension/muzzle thing is from the Multiple switch and theres so many styles im having a hard time choosing.
