On the advice of the reviews here I recently bought the PowerLyte Scepter barrel kit. Here is my first thoughts about it.
1. I ordered it on a Tuesday and I received it on Friday. Fast delivery.
2. I ordered the Stainless Steel kit but I wanted it in black. It came with a chome rear and a black front. Maybe the Stainless steel doesn't come in black? I haven't contacted them yet about it but I will stick with the SS. Doesn't look bad so no biggie.
3. The case/ bag the kit came in is a POS. The inserts can and do bang against each other. Considering the kit cost $219.00 I think something should be done about the case.
4. The rear did not come with an o-ring. I'm new to paintball so I'm not sure if this is the norm.
5. Again I'm new to paintball so some type of manual or instructions would have been a nice touch. Some info on how to PROPERLY use the insert system according to the manufactures specs. would have been nice for the $219.00.
6. I took the barrel out for a test and at about 20 yards I could put ball after ball in about a 6 inch circle. On full auto the group got to about 12 inch circle. No barrle breaks in about 300 balls.
So my first response to the Scepter is mixed. I bought the kit because of the insert locking system as compaired to the Freak and because the Scepter is supposed to be more accurate than the Freak. After I test it more I'm gonna post my review for it in the review section. If the performance lives up to the reviews I'll be happy but as of right now I think that the Freak is packaged better and depending on the Scepter future performance the Freak maybe better all around. More later.
