look in the sticky threads at the top.... just read everything you can and soak it all up like a sponge... thats what I've been doing for the longest time. I'm not really a newb anymore... but I still read the sticky threads and do my searches. Odds are, someone has already asked a question that you have problem with.. so just do a search next time. :)

To actually answer your question, I’d start with a good entry-level marker like a Tippmann Model 98 and most Spyders. They are good sturdy markers that are easy to use, break down, clean, and maintain. There are also MANY aftermarket upgrades for these markers. This makes it easy to have your first marker evolve with your abilities and your comfort in the game. The main thing is start at the beginning, a good entry-level marker. I’ve seen too many people jump into a Autococker and regret it for lack of knowledge.

how much do you want to spend?
if you can afford it i would get this gun its the same one that i have and it works really good for 120 bucks http://www.dunhamssports.com/product/index.jsp?productId=1732454&cp=712507.710318&fCat=710318&fpricesort=priceAscending&filter=yes&parentPage=family

Actually, Piranha's are good, servicable markers. The "player pack" gives you everything you need to start playing at a good price.

If you want a good gun to start with get a tippmann. If you want a gun that you can upgrade alot than go for a spyder. They are both fairly good stock guns and with a spyder, u'll be able to upgrade when you start to get better.

Whatever you do, do NOT buy one of those packs. I've found you can buy the items for cheaper. At least what I've seen....

get a spyder you'll be more happy. tipps are good. but once you get better the spyder is easier to upgrade. get an IMAGINE SPYDER.
