Yesterday I was just shooting my Custom 98 at some trees and after only about 5 shots it was really cold. My barrel had a lot of moisture on it and the co2 tank and the body of the gun were real cold. It was last night and I'd say it was in the upper 50's to near 60. Seeing as thought I live up here in New York it does get pretty cold in the winter (sub 32F) and I do want to do some pbing in the winter. The gun was really cold, although the balls were still shooting pretty good. Does this mean that I should probably get an expansion chamber? Thanks.

Do you already have an anti-syphon tube??? If you don't get one, if you do you might take it to an airsmith because it sounds like you're sucking up a lot of liquid. An expansion chamber should take care of that, but an anti-syphon adds almost no weight, and is cheaper.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm guessing that the tank has to be empty in order to install it? Also, is it hard to install?

Another thing, when I was shooting a hell of a lot of C02 was comming out, and when I was shooting at the ground the c02 would come out in a straight shot and then a little bit after that. On the concrete there was a lot of white c02 that came out after the shot and then a sec lata a little dripple of c02 came out:confused: . It was wierd, I was just shooting the ground to see the c02 and there would be a large round white area that would dissapear and then a little dripple would come out.

It's called condensation, my friend  . If you shoot towards the ground, the liquid (denser than air) will move to the front of the tank and will be used to fire the paintball.

A m98 can run on liquid. Running on liquid is not usually good, but a m98 can run on it.

Those puffs of smoke was the co2. It happens when it gets cold out.

An expansion chamber would help. So would an anti-syphon tube in the tank. The tank needs to be empty to put in the tube. DON'T DO IT YOURSELF! Take it to your local shop and let them do it. You might be able to buy a new tank with one already installed and sell your old one. If the shop puts one in our old tank for you, it shouldn't cost more than $10-$20. The part is cheap, the labor might not be.

The best thing for winter play is an HPA tank.

Don't shoot your marker straight down. It runs the liquid co2 into the marker.
