I am the proud owner of a 04 bko and i was wondering if anyone had tested or had a good idea of wether i should sell my evlution 2 and get a halo b or just buy the z board.
I was personally thinking z board to save money.
I have read good and bad things about the halo b and dont know if it is really worth all of the money it sells for because i could just upgrade to z board.
thank you for your reply

first of all how come you want a fast hopper?
anyways.. i would suggest Zboard Eggy2 becasue its cheaper and way lighter, my friends have halos and they say there way to heavy to do anything.
and as a reg i dont recomend the bob long reg.
i know one guy who has bought one and he had problems with it and said the stock was better.
if you really want a new High pressure reg get the CP grip reg ... everyone has liked it andits the best for its price
then theres the sidewinder reg which is probably the best reg out there but its like 95 bucks..
so i recomend the CP reg.

Here I will disagree with everyone.
If you arent strong enough to hold up the halo then you need to look at getting into something a little more your spead, like basket weaving or something along those lines.
The Egg w/ Z board is nice but it still doesnt compare to the Halo with Z code. The halo is a true force feed hopper this has its advantages and disadvantages, when it comes to using it with a BKO.
Being a force feed system the halo can and will push balls apast the oring detent in a BKO. You can adjust the halo's pot to help correct this but an easier fix is to use a bright shelled paint instead of dark green, blue, black, etc....
With the halo on top of your KO you will not be able to fire faster than it can feed and it will also help should you have any kind of blow back in the marker.
There are several advantages to the Halo that we could go into. I have both hoppers and the only time I use my Egg is when I forget to put new batteries in my Halo, simple as that.

shootpaint, how do u think the new ricochet apache would perform on a bko/b2k4?

I honestly do not know. I have not seen the Apache or used one at this time.
For about the last month I have been living under a rock. I am just now getting myself reaquainted<sp?) with all the new products coming out.

After reading the info at WarPig is appears that it works on the same principle as the Egg. It isnt a true forcefeed hopper so it is till going to have its limitation. I am sure it will be very close race between it and the Egg.

The Apache is right along the lines with a Egg with Y Board. It has all the features you expect from Richocet (timer etc) and probably eats batteries less then my egg and my halo. 17bps isnt a problem for the Apache and is made very well. The Oring feedneck is a plus as well, even though I have a clamping feedneck. In the long run if you can afford it, get the Halo its one less thing you have to worry about when you are on the field hoping a hopper can keep up.

you guys do realize that the Halo is heavier than the Eggy by something like half an ounce?
in other words, they weigh the same...
if you think the Halo weighs alot more then it is in your head and you are some sort of wierd Viewloader fanboy...

Ya when the egg and the halo are both filled with balls they weigh almost exactly the same. New Eggs with z board are 100 right? New halo b's new w/ z code are only 105. And halos don't have the crappiest battery door every created by man like the egg has.

I tried both, and with blowback issues, halo b wins.

well Stump, he already has a Eggy2, so upgrading to z board would only be aobut 25 bucks.
i would stick with the evo2, get the z board if you really need that much speed.

Sell the Eggy, use the cash to get a Halo. I used an Eggy on my B2k recently and I didn't like it at all, had a kinda choppy feed rate. My Halo motor burned out and I didn't have a choice...
but more importantly, are you outshooting the Eggy? If you're not then why should you waste the cash on an upgraded hopper?

My advice to you is to get the Evy 2. For 1 its less money... and it can still load very fast. But if your are rippin your paintball gun more than 17bps i would suggest to get the halo b. The weight won't affect you at all like every1 else says. You get used to it after a while and the only thing it will do to you is make you stronger!
If your going to get Evy2 practice on keeping your hopper low. The Evy2 sits really high up on your gun so dont be suprised to get a lot of hopper shots at first.
