View Full Version : Why won't my Timmy fire?

My new Timmy is giving me fits :(

It'll work fine, then in mid-game, just refuse to shoot. Not leaking, not shooting at low velocity, just nothing!

Troubleshooting - so far, based on comments, I'm guessing it's a problem with the solenoid, but not positive.
I tripped the manual button on the solenoid when it stops firing and it shoots, so I know gas is getting to it.
I made sure the screw on the board had a rubber washer/oring to ensure that it doesn't trip anything.
I fiddled with the settings. Bob told me to jack my dwell up to 20! It worked, for a little bit, then nothing again.

It's really hard to trouble shoot it, cause whenever I'm at home, it works fine! :( Any suggestions? Waiting till Bob comes back from World Cup so I can just go up there and get help in person.

have u taken the board out a couple of times? If u have maybe its the trigger switch, if u move around the wires to much it can break the solder, and then the contact wont be as secure.
happend to me.

There's a thread similar to this on pbnation.com

There's a screw in the board (you have to remove the grip panel to see it) that needs an o-ring beneath it. The reason is to help keep the screw from grounding out the board. Some of the Timmies were shipped without the o-ring.

The thread on pbnation also includes a pic, so you'll know exactly where to look. Check that out to see if it could be causing your problem.

Yeah, I had to post on pbnation to get responses :)

Wish it was that simple ;)

check your trigger. if you adjust it to a point that its too small then the gun will stop firing and fire and its wierd.. cant explain it..

Mine has done the same thing to me twice. The first time (the gun was brand new) out it did it and so I sent it back to bob and he replaced the solenoid. I got the gun back and the next weekend the third game the thing just stopped working(it was doing the same thing as the first time). Call delta paintball on monday and they told me to turn up the dwell to 10ms(turn the #7 dip switch off). I had to push the reset on the solenoid to get it to work. It is now seems to be working great (in my back yard), my LPA reg is set at 85 and the HPA reg is at 280psi with a velocity of 290fps(+/- 3fps). I have not tried it on the field yet
