I've been bugging my friend to get a decent paintgun for a long, long time. He's finally gotten one, so he let me dissect the marauder.
Before I disassembled it into scrap I fired about 100 shots of fresh, thick shelled paint. On average, every third shot broke. After the 40th time I squeegeed the barrel I decided to just leave it off.
The gun works better without a barrel.
Wow, It went from a marker unworthy of even the most jejune of newbies to a marker worthy of only the most jejune of newbies.
I turned the velocity way down and we did a CQB game. 'Twas great fun. The lack of a barrel meant a very fast target aquisition and no warning when sweeping corners.
If you have a BE gun, take off the barrel and try it that way. It will, at the very least, save you the trouble of squeegeing. Once again, Brass eagle proves itself incapable of creating a decent paint marker after their original lineup.
