ok, so, i just bought an r/t and when i start shooting really fast, teh bolt gets like stuck half way. it doesnt make any sense, i have to like cock it back like anotoerh .5in. then it works fine again, untill i start to rip again.

so whats the problem here?

yea i'm havin the same problem when i use my empire twister barrel (like i said in the thread before)

anyways, i don't really know the answer.

do you oil your back bolt often?

yes i do oil it often (acually, about before every game)

i think it might be the co2, but im not sure, keep postin peeps.

and yak, u could be of some help too.

Mine did that too whenever I was using CO2. I just got my nitro tank back today since it had a faulty reg on it.

I am getting it filled tomorrow and adjusting everything.

I think it is because of CO2. When I was ripping on mine, I noticed the output gauge on my stab dropped steadily. Then it would uncock. I think it is because of the pressure fluctutation of CO2 and eventually it looses enough pressure to uncock. Thats what I thought the reason was, cause you have to rip on the RT for a little bit for it to happen. If you keep your bursts short, it will hopefully prevent it.

Also it could be the sear not catching whenever the pressure drops from high ROF.

That is the only justification I can think of.

When my nitro tank gets set up and working right, I will let you guys know if it happens w/ nitro too. If not, then CO2 is the likely culprit.

ok, thanx yak. i thought it was most likely co2 too. and it doest do it when i do short bursts. get back to me when u test it out w/ n2.

From what I can tell, it's just like shootdown. There's not enough blowback air to push the bolt all the way back.

When this happens, are you experiencing any shootdown?

im not really sure, like, the bolt is stuck half way, its not all the way down near the valve, but its not cocked.

The only other reason I can think that it would get stuck halfway is if the front o ring is worn out and the ball detent is snagging it when it goes back to the cocked position. Its highly unlikely that is the problem, but I cannot think of another reason that it is stuck in the middle of cocked and uncocked.

Its wierd I know, but when I test the nitro w/ it, Ill let you guys know if it still does it.

Hopefully it wont.

ok, the detent is on right and the oring is fine.

If it's the same thing that happens to me, then it's just because there's not enough air to blow the bolt back.

Again, are you experiencing shootdown when this happens?

polish those internals and keep her lubed good :P no pun intended. If it still does the same thing w/ nitro, Im gonna give tippmann a call and ask what the dilly is.

ok, ya, i think its shootdown.

ya, i did polish the internals and oil it up real good.

and if u call up tippmann, call the proshop, Akilldema called up gun support or something and they just told him to check his orings ect ect.

thats one of the reasons I made the switch to Nitro.

Its likely shootdown, cause when you rip w/ it and it uncocks, you can recock it immediately and try to rip some more and it my a do the same thing again, only sooner.

If you were standing at a chrono right now, you could find out for certain. If you rip, it uncocks, you recock it and check your velocity.....Ill bet its like close to 200-225fps.

If so, its CO2.

same thing hap[pened to mine. It only happened when i did like 10 = round bursts over and over again. I recently played in 60 degree wether and didnt do to many really long huge bursts but i never had thr half cock prblem while i was shooting like 3-8 round bursts. Not to mention i was doin this with a VL200 non motorized hopper. lol (the bps adjuster was about 1/3 the way out) I was still suprised it kept up and never chopped and only dry fired 1ce... LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLo musta been sum serious luck on my side LOLOLOLOLOLOLo
