When I screw in my tank, I hear a hissing sound from around the valve area, which I assume is co2 leaking out. Is it ok to deassemble the valve to check the o-rings?

yes.
it could be the valve body o-ring, the big one.
or the one were the gas line screws into the valve, the little one.
if those are fine then its one of the o-rings inside the valve.
i just replaced one of those.
you might want to send it to tippmann if its that because taking the valve apart is not a good idea unless you know exactly what youre doing. i think tippmann rebuilds the valve for $10 or something like that.

did you recently remove the bottom line from the valve body? If so, you might want to remove it from the valve body and apply some (not much) thread lock. I had the same problem when I switched over to the billet power tube.:)
