My friend's Pro was shooting at around 26-270 yesterday, and then all of a sudden he couldn't get the velocity under 300. Does anyone know what the problem would have been, he was using the blue spring.

Change the main spring to a weaker one, or snip the main spring 1-2 coils.
yep
i had to cut my spring as well
just a coil or two, maybe more depending on what fps you play at.

Well I knew about cutting the coils, and I can do that. But what puzzled me was why he started the day shooting in the 260's and ended shooting over 300. Any ideas?

CO2 expands as the heat increases. Usually it's cold in the morning and temperature increases as the day goes on. Thus CO2 expands and pressure increases. That's my guess. :)
