I can't count how many times I've been over shot, mainly by newbs ... most of them don't mean too, it's just they've not played enough to know that overshooting is a SIN.

Most of the ones I've encountered do try not to make the same mistake once it's been pointed out to them.

The rest, well ... they become cannon fodder.:D

It's kinda the opposite for me.I am a newbie, but I never overshoot (my gun is so inaccurate,I miss at 5 yards{I LOVE my stingray:rolleyes: })There were some experienced players at my local field, and they snuck up on us (they were the only experienced players there at the time). They just run around the corner, and coat me and my friends from head to toe with paint (we would have been coated, but the field sells diablo blaze, and most of the paintballs were slightly frozen,or at least the shells were extra hard,so most of the hits bounced off:()Four players shooting about 30 rounds each at point blank range at three new players.Overkill,to say the least.

I bought a pump because when I was a complete newb I unloaded a hopper on a guy for a half a game. he never moved his head and I just kept shooting... I realized I had a compulsive trigger disorder... a prescription strength PHANTOM pump corrected it though.

Mine may not sound that bad but I got stiched with a 3 burst. Normaly I dont mind getting shot but me and my friend played 1v1 rec ball. and lets just say we had no chrono graph. Anyways I got hit in the arm, bottom ribs and heal. It was the worst I've ever gotten hit in all my time of playing paintball.

Last year when i was playin a kid tryed to bunker me and as he came around the corner my barrel smacked his forhead and i shot, form about 2 1/2 inches away. His forhead looked like he got hit with a golfball from 10 feet away. I kinda felt bad but his mom was there so i ddint say anything.

I got lit up in my hands and chest on a hyperball field from about 15 yards. I got hit in my thumb and pointer finger 3 times, gun twice and chest twice. My thumb was bleeding and that sucked. I want gloves.

my worst light up..... rich kid with a fish bone cocker..... 4 shots in the leg, 3 in the ribs, 2 in the mask and a final 3 in the arms. I got the kid kicked outa the park for the rest of the day, considering all but 2 of the paintballs bounced(wasn't useing field paint, old marbelizers) and i got to pick them up and show the ref on my way out.... he he he

Any time someone overshoots you, you really have to do it to them back, so they can see that it isn't funny.

Ok the worst thing for me was getting shot ten feet away on the back of my finger (half finger gloves) and it stung like a *****......... but i tend to be trigger happy when i shoot at people i do admit. But once the guy raises his marker or says im out i stop immediately..... and when i bunker i only unload 3 rounds at the very most............. oh ya the finger shot was by a piranha..........

When I'm walking off and people shoot me on purpose (you can tell) I get so mad. Next time I'm gonna go shoot them. I wanted to last time but it never happened.

Why don't you get them kicked off the field

you guys have to remember that a lot of the time it takes around 3-5 shots to get a good break, so when you think they are overshooting they are simply trying to get a break.

but 10+ shots is overshooting

thats true but also put to mind that when u see someone u shoot alot of times cause paintball guns are not sniper rifles there simply not that accurate so u shot alot of balls so that they will hit the target and sometimes they all do so if it was 3 or 5 shots dont get that mad but if its around 10 then its ok for a little anger lol

some kid tried to bunker me in a tornyand walked away with a chest full of balls. He came around on me and I opened up on him shot maybe ten balls but little did my back man had to he said got hit in the chest about 50 times.
I know this is contridicting this thread but I can't control myself anymore. I use to shoot once when some tried to bunker me but whenever i got himf irst I got with ten balls and I would get called out so now I make sure I got him out first.

the best way to stop overshooting is to yell at the kids and threaten cutting something off! it is the hars approach but i found that the newb wont overshoot anymore even the next day or the next time you go to the field! i have done that a few times and it works. you should try

In the days before I had a harness, my friend John and I were playing Cap & def at the local field with about 25 other people. After an intense first round, we had about 20 shots between us, so we agreed to hole up in a bunker until the OpFor got damn close. Five minutes into the game, everyone on the other team (and I think some of of the refs) were shooting at us, the bunker sounded like a drum machine. We got flanked from both sides, and i must have taken about ten shots in the arse before the other team realized they had gotten us. So I yelled to any other prospective rambos on the other team who may be thinking of lighting us up even more "I'm out I'm coming up!" my friend and I stood up, and promptly got lit up by the nice people in front of us. And then, to make matters worse, a paint grenade sailed into our pillbox, and my goggles lost what little visiblity they had after getting lit up twice.

I limit myself to a 3 round burst...if in a firefight. If I'm NOT in a firefight, and I've snuck up on someone (which is usually how I play), I limit myself to two...and only two if I know the first is going to miss.

Usually it doesn't.

I got lit up once by my own team. The dummies were all sitting back and not moving forward. I had taken point and had my back to my team, trying to push against the other team...and suddenly I got lit up by 5-10 shots on my back...and it was my own team. They never DID give me an explanation why they did that.

Needless to say, I was a tad ticked. But I'm not one to yell, so I really didn't say much other than, "Why in the heck were you shooting at me!? I was on your team!"

Like I said, no answer.

Bah. That's why I like going off by myself, or with one other friend and playing sniper style. No one can find me, until I start pickin' people off.

ok, this isnt really over shooting but funny... me and a kid were sittin behind a bunker shootin at this guy, a second later he runs up to us shoots the kid next to me, points his gun and me and hes out of ammo :D so he runs i jump up and shoot him in the back of the head and in the butt from 5 feet away

another time, i was on hyperball course, and I ran to a side bunker which was behind the middle piece, and there were 2 guys behind it.. i shot one he left, the other didnt notice me.. i shoot him 3 times in the back, he didnt move, so i shot him 3 more times, he still didnt move then i shoot him about 2 more times and yelled at him then he left ;) this was from about 10 feet away

NSUCK...shooting someone in the back of the head from 5 feet away is one of the stupidest things I've ever heard.

That's just plain bad sportsmanship. If you KNEW he was out of ammo, you should have been a man, and given him the option to surrender, instead of being a stupid punk and shooting him in the BACK of the head from 5 feet.

Dangit. It's people like you that tick me off in paintball.

first of all, i shot him in the back (not the head) second it was from 10 feet away.
I also saw him move his hand on his back and check to see if he was hit, THEN i waited 2 more minutes while i was shooting at someone else (not in same bunker) then i looked back and he was still there so i shoot him again and yelled at him... he wasnt out of ammo or anything and i wasnt shooting him right in a row i have him a good 2-3 minutes but he just sat there so he finnaly left when i yelled

also i shot the person next to him so he should have known somthing was up

ohh wait u were talkin about the first story,

well.. i couldnt give him the option to surrender because he was running right to a bunker (5 feet away from where i shot him at) and he could've had more paint, either in a pack on his back, or some could've still been in his hopper (because when he shot us he put his gun strait down and fired which would not let any balls drop)

and he sure didnt give me the option to surrender (he also shot the kid next to me 2 times point blank)
