i was doing searches on this site and i saw something called a regulator and a gauge and didnt know what it was for. so if someone can please tell me id appreciate it. and also do you need it for every gun?

a regulator regulates the air pressure being put into the gun. a consistant reg will make your gun more accurate. a gauge reads the pressure.

do they make regulators with the gauge attached to it? also what are drop forwards for and xchambers for? how many oz's do they make n2 and is it refillable? where do you put the regulator? do you need a gauge on the co2 or n2 too? sorry i know these are a lot of questions, but i need to know.

most regulators have a spot for a gauge. drop forwards move your tank down and forward to balance it out and make it more comfortable. hpa tanks are not measured in ounces, they're measured in cubic inches and how much pressure they hold. expansion chambers are for co2, they allow the gas to expand before entering the marker. the regulator goes into a vertical adapter, just like an expansion chamber or foregrip. all hpa tanks come with gauges, a second one is optional. gauge with co2 is optional, too.

o.k. thanks that really helped me a lot, but do n2 (hpa) tanks come in refillable tanks?

are you asking if they're refillable? yes, of course they are.

just making sure. and one more thing, i noticed that some gauges had more PSI:confused: than others. does this matter or affect anything???

Only how high the gauge reads. But its more accurate if you get a gauge thats just a little more to the pressure youre going to be measuring

CO2=800 psi
HPA= whatever the rating of the tank
If youre getting a regulator then ask an airsmith what pressure to set your marker at. Most blowbacks operate at 600-800 psi.

do you know how much a piranha will be measuring. and what do you mean by the rating of the hpa tank?

A piranha should be between 600-800 psi. And the rating of an HPA tank is how much pressure it can hold. HPA hold a much higher pressure that CO2, CO2 is usually 800 psi, while HPA can be 3000, 4500, 5000, 6000. Some tanks have different psis but those are the usual ones.

so would a 3000 hpa tank be good for a piranha?

actually i would put your pressure at about 475-500.

no. 800 input until there are some lower pressure upgrades/modifications.

if you have high flowing parts you will get better effiency(more shots per tank) and your gun will have less kick, and be a little quiter

can you have a x-chamber and a regulator?
i only ask this because you said that the regulator screws into the foregrip just like the x-chamber.
