HEY,
I have painted my gun and it didnt d anything, just take it apart and remove all of the interiors. Cover the holes and tape off the edges so you dont get paint on the inside. The pattern depends on what you are hopiong for and what you are playing in. Make regilar army camo or make your own, whatever works. Good luck and happy hunting.

If you do decide to paint it have a pro do it. My friend spray-painted his 98. It looked like it was dripping with paint even after it dried:biglaugh: Just make sure you get what you wanted

my friend->:banghead:

Use spray paint. I heard car paint works well, somebody correct if I'm wrong.

I'd just like to point out that I am definitely not a professional painter, but mine came out flawless. There's old pictures of it in the picture thread and I'll have some new ones (different paint job) sometime soon.

my friend painted his 98c himself, he put a white base down then hand painted a clear blue on top of it. it is lumpy and looks like blue whiteout. do it with spray paint or have a pro do it. (car paint works very well)

i painted my A-5 and it has a fade from light red to dark red
all i did was

1. took the entire gun apart and wiped the recievers down
2. got some steel wool and scuffed up both the recievers
3.got some rustoliem primer and sprayed it on then let it dry for 1-2 hours
4. got some red rustoliem spray paint sprayed the whole thing i gave it about 4 coats and let each coat dry for an hour in between coats.
5. i took the dark red rustoliem paint and made it fade into it by spraying it lighty in the middle and heavily in the back
6. i let all of it dry under a lightbulb so it would bake the paint on for 24 hours

the whole process takes about 48 hours and ive been getting complements on my gun alot by people.

hope this helped and good luck;)

i painted mine, u can see it in my sig, first i sanded the black paint till it was grey, dont do it to much. that can work as a primer, but after i used a white primer on it, after that i put down a layer of light blue(just the color i chose) then put another, then put a coat of silver on half of it(to make a fade) then i put a high gloss protective coating on it. then let it dry and it turned out good, paint didnt chip. i used paint thats good for use on metal, car paint works good i heard. before just take out all the interior stuff, tape up the holes(i used q tips) and once every hole is covered , to make sure nothing inside gets messed up, then just paint

Just get it powder coated. It'll be done by a professional, last longer than regular paint and look better.

Ask E R Y K if he felt it was worth it to paint his gun. From the sound of it, when we talked on AIM, he experienced true hell.

www.cbsforless.com I think you can get a two color fade for $40 shipped and he does great work AND will take of the paint for you at no charge.

true hell? agreed. i probably inhaled my whole rear site that i filed off.

then after my primer, a bug landed and got stuck in the paint, then i had to sand it off and apply another layer. when you think that was bad enough, after my black coat was on, a biiig grasshopper landed on it, and decided to stick and not come off... so when i sanded the remains off, the rest of my gun was black, and there was a blotch of exposed aluminum the size of a dime. now, there is a little indentation of where the grasshopper landed.

but i guess it all payed off... a few days, some money, and some time... and it came up w/ this

:D not too bad if you ask me. but i kinda regret killing the red paintjob i had.

if you dont have time on your hands, or you are afraid to screw up, just get it powdercoated like greedy said :)
