I was thinking that a PT extreme would be a good platform for an easy mod. I had an M92 grip frame from a Black Dragun lying around, so it was time to get busy. First off, the mounting holes in the frame needed to be closer together, so after removing the electronics, I took the frame to the drill press. In order to get the rear screw to sit flat, some material had to be removed at the back of the grip frame near where the solenoid plunger adjustment screw is located. I decided that A double trigger just isn't appropriate for a pistol, so I cut the trigger guard off and cut the trigger down between the two finger scallops. In order to keep some semblance of safety, I filed down the front portion of the frame to make it thinner, and tapped the forwardmost hole to accept a larger screw which I then used to attach the original PT trigger guard. The last thing was to grind off about 2 mm from the part of the sear that contacts the solenoid plunger. This allows the sear to sit higher in the grip frame to compensate for the added thickness on the bottom of the PT as compared to a spyder.
Because the PT uses a spring fed magazine, it can feed at a decent rate. I can crank the grip up to 14 BPS before it starts to chop. You can put it in ful auto and dump your entire magazine in less than a second. It's not really practical, but it will turn some heads at your next scenario game. :D http://www.angelfire.com/pro/bloen/images/ptx.JPG
