What is the best way to get the best efficiency?
Adjusting dwell? HPR and LPR?

With ND internals, LPR, and some adjusments to your LPR's pressure, input pressure, and dwell you can get some of the best efficiency an Impulse can get.
If you don't want to bother with all that, just fool around with your dwell and input pressure until you find the right mix. All Impy's are different so one person can't tell you how to get your Imp's maximum efficiency.

Yes my question was only concering the thigns which I listed, HPR, LPR and Dwell. DWell highegR? more to the left? or more to the right?

Here, do this:
1. Set your Impulses operating pressure to 150psi.
2. Set the LPR at its maximum output pressure setting. This will be 150psi. We don't really care about the LPR's actual pressure. We are trying to do this the simple way.
3. With the operating pressure at 150psi, adjust your dwell to get the gun to shoot about 300fps. This will give you a very good dwell setting to use with the LPR.
4. Now set the operating pressure up to 200psi.
5. Shoot over a chrono, adjust the LPR to get the velocity you want, lets say 290fps for an example.
6. There you are done!
Straight from Wolverine's FAQ (http://www.kamworld.net/paintball/ImpulseFAQ.html). Hope that helped. :)
EDIT: Wait, I remembered you didn't have a gauge. Is that still correct? If you don't then just don't bother about what's above. All you can do is just fool with the LPR, Input pressure, and dwell. The IP should be around 140-180 psi, but that can go lower since you have an LPR.

yes it's still correct I have no guage, however...I still know where the setting for 200 is.

yah, do what nos said, that should work well

Aight guys, thanks for the help...I'll do that nex timeI'm out on the field, but I have rto find a screw driver or something small enough to adjust dwell because I don't wanna take the board out.

If you have one small enough, just use a very very small allen wrench. Don't use anything sharp.

I use a paper clip, it works well.

Paper clip doesn't scratch it up?
Nos listed the most commonly used (and usually the best way) to adjust your LPR.
For those of you without an LPR... generally you will get the best efficiencey from a higher pressure setting (about 170 to 185) and a lower dwell setting.
Also, give the NDZ valves a try... they are very nice.

Whoa Dr J, where have you been?
What are your preferences for setting up the NDZ valve. I mean do you follow the same procedure? Do you find that they work best at 140-160psi or up to 200psi.

So if you don't have an LPR then should you do the steps up there^ just ignoring the lpr part?
I've been on the Ratguns.com forums mostly in the last 6 months or so... but now my adventures with Ratguns.com is over I'll be back on PBR once in a while although I'll also be spending some time on the AtomiX forum.

For the NewDesignz valve I suggest the same operating pressure that I suggest for non-lpr stock valve guns... about 160-180 psi.
When you install the valve, you will most likely need to slightly lower your dwell.
I am also revising my suggested internal setup when using the NewDesignz valve. I now recomend using a Slick Shot, Ti pull pin, Delrin bolt, and STOCK ALUMINIM HAMMER.
The ND valve needs less then half the same energy to open as the stock valve does. Now you can lower your internal weight making your impulse cycle extremely fast.
If you want an extremely fast shooting Impulse that is fully tournament legal, I suggest an Impulse with the above internals and an Equalizer board. Do NOT use a tapeworm you will get shootdown. All tapeworm Imps get shootdown.
Use one these three air mods... VFF/AFF, Iso-Mod, or an ASA mounted LPR set only 10-20 psi lower than the input pressure from the maxy.

and what do you mean that if you run a tapeworm you get shootdown ? what about the gp slide check ?

Hey Dr. J I got a ND valve(and lpr) and i was wondering if I should set it at a different pressure than what the FAQ says to do if i will get better efficiency that way or just the same way the FAQ does
What do I mean by saying that tapeworm Imps have shootdown? I mean that tapworms cause shoot down. But the up side is that it is better than an Imp without any air mod.
For setting up an Impulse with ND valve and LPR I would try around 160-200 psi input. Unfortunately I'm not to experienced with that setup yet as I haven't have much time to experiment with that... yet.
