Well I've never used them, but I've only heard bad things about Big Balls. If he doesn't have an agitated loader, and he has a decently fast finger, that could be the problem right there. You were shooting semi-auto I hope? The balls could have been old as well. Was he shooting real hot? Any of these factors could lead to choppage.

nope, he shoots slow, he cant even walk the trigger and i know that shooting hot's not the problem and he was shooting semi auto

does he completely strip the gun down and clean off the internals and lube it or does he just stick a squeegee down the barrel?

PMI hopper, he just put the squeeque through the barrel, feedneck and the part between the bolt and barrel

i had the same problem, but i got a Halo TSA and better paintballs($28 for 2000, that should have alerted me right there) and it solved the problem.

Tell him to oil the gun with paintball gun oil. Take out the internals, run a squegee through it, check for paint shells, make sure it is 100% clean. Then put the internals, after lubing them, back in, and buy better paint; they may not have been fresh and therefore were out of shape, had weak shells, or were just...well, bad. So the problem is either bad paint, dirty/unlubed internals, or both.
