He is somewhat of a noob so I was wondering if it was an OK gun for him? Right now he has a spyder xtra with e-grip and some other stuff. He wants something a little better just for fun (not for tournies or anything, at least not yet). I was wondering how hard the gun is to maintain, and how different from a blow back is it in terms of maintainance? I don't really know a whole lot about real electros (non sear-trippers) either. I mean I know the general idea of how they work, but I have never actually taken one apart or anything. Basically what I want to know is: is it an ok gun for him, and how hard is it to keep in working order? Thanks:)

it should be good for him if he is over the age of 13....if he is really good with his gear (i.e. doesnt throw his marker, properly lubes it) he should be fine

It would probably be a good gun for him. The only maintenance you have to do after every time you play is clean the barrel and wipe the bolt off. The every 6000rds you should lube the valve. Somewheres in the middle you should clean the reg maybe 3000rds.

bkos are light, reliable and easy to maintain. should be perfect for anybody learning. just make sure you remind him not to use Co2.

Yes he is 13 right now. He's pretty good with his gear, he doesn't always clean it after every time but I'm sure if he had a nice gun he would.
To clean the reg do you actually have to take it apart and lube all the o-rings and such? I wouldnt want him to mess something like that up. Or do you just put some oil in the ASA?

well no co2 without antisiphon, though by the time you get the anti syphon tank you might as well of bought a cheap nitro tank.

Anti Syphon Tube: $5.00
47ci/3000psi Nitro Tank: $75
There is a $70 price difference there.

an a/s will work but to be on the complete safe side you need a palmer stabalizer. Yes the regs work with co2, but they are not made to handle it which means things can go wrong. If you want to be completely safe you either want to run Nitro or a/s co2 with a stabalizer.
