carpeting is sweet cuz you can slide on it but sand would be wicked too. imagine crouching behind a bunker with sand gettin shot up all around you, downside is you could get it in you gun and hafta clean it

The only indoor fields i've played on have carpeting and sand. I love the carpeting its great but it has to be cleaned regularly. I dont like the sand on indoor fields because its full of paint and its really dirty and makes ur marker dirty.

another idea was to have difrent floorings in difrent fields like sand in one and astrotruf in another that way you can play difrent types of fields all in one building.

AS long as you have the right cleaning equipment, astroturf makes a great surface. You can get nice controllable slides, and it cushions impact faily well while giving a good grip to your shoes. Make sure to wear long pants and sleeves, or knee and elbow pads. It can give you a wicked brush burn if you slide on bare skin.

Sand feels sweet to play on however it gets your equipment very dirty. Shag carpet would just produce a whole lot of friction burns and would be really hard to clean. Any hard surface is just wrong(kind of obvious). I think the best would be astroturf with some sort of softer rubber matting underneath.

how bout that fake grass that is way awesome, like they have at Ford Field? It's that crazy, real looking, feeling, not real grass.

Yeah the best indoor field I've ever played at had atomix turf (they patented their own type of turf). It's like playing on fake grass since it's so thick that you can use your cleats on it. It also has padding underneath so slides don't hurt and you get really good traction while running. It kinda looks like the same stuff that's in the Michigan football stadium.
Aside from that I like astroturf too because it's easier to clean and you can still get good traction on it.

yeah exactly what he said, I couldn't think of what it was called, but I do know that Atomix field in Walled Lake has it, and the turf looks SCHWEEEET! err... agg..
