View Full Version : Help me pick a new stock!

Alright I'm already tired of my stock, plus I'm not really liking the quality either. So I'm looking to get a new one and I thought I'd get everyone's opinion on what I'm leaning toward.

I'm looking for a stock that either slides or folds, so no solid ones. Since I am not really limited to $$$ (because luckily mine has a high re-sale value) I want one with a RVA too, unless it's just a really great looking stock. Let me know which of the following stocks you guys like (and if there's one you think is noteworthy but I dont have it on here feel free to list it, I'd appreciate that):

JCS Stocks
Number 1

Number 2 I just realized #1 and 2 are the same. If you think I should keep the stock I have vote "Number 2"
http://img11.photobucket.com/albums/v35/dr1707/Paintball/5a_1_b.jpg

Number 3

Real Folding HK MP5 *Maker Unknown*

AK-47 Folding Stock

These are the stocks I like, they're not in any order from greatest to least or vice versa. So don't let that sway your decision. If you could tell me why you picked whatever you did it would also be helpful. Oh, don't recommend that I don't get a stock, because I find them very useful. Plus, it always comes off if you think it's ugly.

Thank you everyone!

Hey, Greedy.

I'm the guy that emailed you about the stock you've got now (I've got the same one). I'm gonna keep it for awhile and see if I can't make do with it. it just looks sooo good.

I voted for the HK folding stock. It's the next best looking stock, and would really help keep the authentic MP5 look the A5 was designed to have. Although, if the RVA is THAT important to you, you may have to go with one of the others. I don't think it has an RVA, does it?

Good luck. Upgrade decisions. Aren't they great?

keep the one from your pics, it looks better than any of those.

I love the way mine looks. Don't get me wrong. But I'm having too many problems with it quality wise. I've sent it back once already to get fixed and it's going out again. Rather than deal with the problem again I'm just going to get a new one.

The RVA isn't that important to me, but I figure if I can get it why not? I don't need it, my efficiency and consistancy is fine but it can't hurt.

Thank you to everyone who posted and voted!

P.S. Number 1 and 2 are the same. So if you think I should keep mine (which I more than likely am not going to do) then vote "Number 2".

I'll answer some of thier questions, if you don't mind, Greedy. From what the picture says, the HK mp5 stock does fold against the gun, not extend and shorten.

Although I'm not sure where you found this Greedy--it looks better than the folding stock on opsgear.com. The one that both Greedy and I already have is the one that slides forward and extends. You can see it on his setup, just click the "my setup" link in his signature. Or, you can see it here:

http://shop.store.yahoo.com/opsgear/tia5mp5slres.html

It looks great, but is not perfect. That's why he's going with something different.

Thanx Benhmn you covered it just right. Saved my fingers some typing.

I found the stock on ebay a little while back, they might have another one up though so keep looking on there if you like it. But it's not going to be cheap.

I forgot to specify why I chose the bottom AK-47 stock because it seems people don't like that one. That one folds OVER the marker so it's compeltely flush around the body of the marker when not extended. You can visualize it by thinking of the motion those Can Crushars make to flatten soda cans. So it's pretty easy to compact because it fold over and very easy to pull down. All of the other markers have their advantages too. I just though I should mention that considering is the only stock that folds in a different direction.

This seems to be close, thanx to everyone who's been posting.

P.S. All of the components of my setup are in the signature with direct links, plus all the links have pictures and a description. That way I don't have to type out the link to the item and it's description over and over and over and over and over . . . . .

I like the AK-47 stock, it is the one that has the least potential, in my mind, to be in the way when folded. It also looks fairly solid when extended, and also light, which for Greedy's marker is an issue.

I find I'm torn between the AK-47 and HK Folding Stock.

HK is winning thus far. I'll give this another day or two and see what anyone else thinks.

get a blackpoint engineering (the same company that made the first two stocks) rva mp stock. It looks more solid than both and is made of solid aluminum.

Do you have a link to that specific stock Satanicsanta090?

Your s/n reminds me of Christmas BTW.

just to get it out there, if i were you(greedy) i wouldnt get a stock at all. For only one reason with most folding stocks its hard to get ur face down far enough to look down the iron sights, but if you dont even bother aiming down the iron sights then get a stock. thats just my :twocents:

The HK stock looks really cool, but if you can't find it the bp usa stocks (numbers 1 and 3) are good. They adjust and the rva lowers the actual stock a little so it might help you aim down the barrel a little better.

HK MP5, because that is what the a-5 was designed to look like.

The ak one looks like it would really reduce your profile when folded.

I recommend the Carbon Fiber Card Board Super Stock. This thing is super light wieght it less than 1 oz. You will not even know that it is on your marker. Unlike some stocks that can only fold in one directions the Carbon Fiber Card Board Super Stock can fold up, down, left, right, south, east, west, northeast, southest. You name the directions and you fold that way. The Carbon Fiber Card Board Super Stock usally sales for 254 dallors plus shipping. But I know the machinest that makes them so i can hook you up with one for just 65 dallors plus shipping. If you are interested Pm and we can set somthing up.

You have the AK folding stock right now do you not? From all the reviews that stock is the highest rated and seems pretty sturdy? Why are you getting rid of it? Also what about the line of collapsible stocks?
