I'm on the market for a new barrel. It seems that everyone with an impulse has a freak system, but I was curious if anyone has had good results with any other barrels?

There's a reason why! Get yourself the Freak! You can shoot all kinds of paint, under all kinds of conditions, and changing barrel length is easy too. With 5 different lengths (10,12,14,16,&18") in the teardrop style and 14" only in the AA. You've got alot of versatility! Although I've heard alot of good things about and around the All American barrels too, which I believe come in 12 & 14". What's your budget?

There are several very good barrels for the Impulse. amoung the best values are the Lapco and the Dye Ultra lite. However if you have $100 to spend- i realy have to recomend you get the freak in a single size barrel and later you can add inserts as you need them.

The only barrel for the Impulse I DON'T recomend is the J&J. These are made from tubing barrels. Some times they can be good, and ofter they are not. They do not repsent an "upgrade" from the stock barrels.

The oter option is the new stlye AA barrel. these are realy cool and have interchangable freak fronts so you can have a AA of freak (tear drop) front in the length and color you want.
