I am trying to come up with a simple, yet fun big game idea to run at the field before the end of the year.

My idea:
2 teams, both with a base, on a woods field with about 25 acres of land. (We already have all that at www.acpwarfield.com )

Drop 25 car-sized tires either around the field or in the center between each base. Each team has 10 or 15 min (?) to collect as many tires as possible to get back to their base. 2 points per tire.

Would anybody be interested in a day-long big game like that? Change the time? Run all day? More tires? I picked tires b/c they would be easy to get, slightly difficult to move and free :)

$5-10 entry fee. FPO at $50-60 a case. Prizes?

Would anybody be interested in day long event like that?

Oh that would be so cool.

But make it so only one person on the same team can touch the same tire at the same time. you know. so the rest of the team has to cover for the one guy rolling the tire back to the base.

If you made it like that, then they couldn't just run out have two guys stick there arms through the middle and grab the other guys shoulder and sprint back.

------------
Also if you made some rope's coming out of tree's. with flag's at the top of them. each flag worth 2 tires. So if someone does go for it they will be up in the air with no cover at all.

And even though paint grenades suck, it would be fun to find one in some of the tires to and throw at the other team :) while retreating with the tire. (IMO)

where you live? I wana go :)

well i dont know about you guys, but when i go paintballing i want to play, not carry tires. the big games that i played at were set up so at certain times they were bases that were the objective. which ever team had there flag hanging at the base at the given time, got the points. there were also minor objectives every half hour worth 50 points, the major objectives were every hour and were 100 points. there was also raffle prizes, like paint, air tanks, and a few guns (spyder and automag). it was hosted by Dan Bonebrake and are great games.

yeah, but those are just the same ol' thing.

I still think it sounds awesome. kinda like escort the prisoner back to your base, but this time you escort a guy carrying a tire.

also I don't know what shape your field is, but if you have 2 pretty well defined ends, you could do a reverse reincarnation.
* if you have to teams starting on the North and south ends, and you get out as a northern you reincarnate from the south but still on the northern team so the southern's have to watch there 6, and vice versa.

Oh and Halliday in the picture are of your site, it is awesome how the 3rd pic. from the bottom you can see the paintball coming out of the barrel as a blur.

I understand. We ran 24-hr scenerio game in July, and well it was too complicated for most people.

I am trying to find something fun to do all day for a huge bunch of players, while keeping it simple.

I like the big game idea shuey, i like the pts for bases after so much time, should incorporate that with the tire thingy, there are already alot of tires there anyways from when chris brought them back in like july. maybe we should have people carry those boxes again to that was kinda funny watching people having to carry them. kinda act like it's something futuristic, like it's the future and it's two tribes after a nuclear fallout trying to survive and fighting against each other.Who knows, tell me what you think.

We already have tires? I was going to get a pickup truck load. I actually thought those boxes were too heavy.

I'm leery about having multiple bases in case of a low turnout.

I'd love to do a "Star Wars" theme, but we want quick and simple.

I believe in the KISS method. Keep It Simple Stupid. Missions should be simple, but change often enough that the game doesn't get bogged down. Time constraints are good. They add a sense of ugency and get players to take chances they may not otherwise take. The leaders of each team need to be LEADERS, not wannabes. They need to know how to read people and give them missions that they are comfortable with, if not enthusiastic about. They need to know how to encourage without pushing.....nobody likes to be ordered around when at play. After all, it's all for fun!

I am going to start hosting big games at my field in MO. I intend to give people the option of BYOP for a higher entry fee. For instance, if you buy at least 500 rounds of our paint for $15, the entry fee is $25. If you BYOP, the entry will be $35. These are just examples, not prices set in stone, but probably pretty close. Free camping will also be available at my place. I love big games, but I think I can do a better job than the hosts of many of the ones I have been to. Some get too complicated. Some get a little too slow. I have some definate ideas as to how to keep the action going! If you don't want to get caught defending a bunker that no one is going to attack, or don't want to walk 1/2 mile every time you get tagged to wait for a reinsertion, you'll want to try out one of my games! I intend to include things like paint minefields, on-field plunder and prizes for the victors of specific battles, team assigned medics that can put you back into the action more quickly without the hike that is manditory at some fields. Check out my fledgling site at www.smakzone.com It isn't fancy, but it will get better. Keep checking back!

My favorite is to play on a nice night when the moon is bright, and its pretty warm. (summer time)

FOREST GAME!

everyone gets 2 glow sticks, 1 taped to their barrel, and the other to their arm. each team has a different color glow stick. glow necklaces also work, but I cant find them in different colors.

its scarey because its dark and you are in the woods. Its soooo quiet. then all the sudden you see a glow stick run by...
good to play with friends so you know they wont cheat
