I know Low pressure is supposed to drop the pressure needed to push a paintball by using more volume so how is that an advantage if you are using more air to push a ball the same speed?

The ball deforms less because the push on it is gentler and more spaced out. Think of it as LP being a gradual push to bring it up to speed, and HP as hitting it with a baseball bat to bring it up to speed. When the ball is deformed, it tries to regain it's original shape in the air, and thus it wobbles. This shoots the aerodynamics all to hell and you lose accuracy. Also, LP is quieter, and LP has fewer ball breaks (due to the softer push).

one of my cockers is low pressure.i put the aka parts because i use a 68cui 4500 and i can get about 2300 shots out of one fill.it DOES seem to be quieter than my other cocker, though.

Is low pressure better with Co2? What do you need, besides a regulator, to go low pressure with co2?

Yes you need a reg you can't go lp without it....
