The trees and shrubs around here make for excellent woodball, especially outlaw. My friends range is next to a pond in the woods has a network of thin trails and a few dug out bunkers- I have the funnest time there.
I'm not really looking for a response, just stating the obvious. May be you could talk about terrain on your local fields or something.

We got a cabin in Washington on Puguet Sound (sp?) near Vashon Island. Sometimes we play speedball on the beach, there are some big rocks lots of logs and sometimes we make smaller bunkers out of drift wood.
We also built this real cool fort on the beach up against the bank. The front wall is about 8ft high and about 15-20ft wide. The left side is also about 8ft high and the right side is a little shorter. Inside we built this platform, so that underneath the platform is like a little room. We have played assault the fort, and once with my little cousin who is 9, we put him inside the fort with one of our markers and tried to attack the fort withoug guns, we had to just touch the wall without geting hit. The fort is cool but what is behind the fort is cooler. A couple years ago there was a landslide there and all the trees got knocked down so there was just this muddy hill. Then some alder trees grew up there. The hill goes up about 30 ft so it is 30 ft by 15ft of alder trees. The trees have lots of leaves on them so you can stand in that little forest and nobody on the beach can see you and you aren't that far from the beach.
There is another area we play that has lots of ferns, and these bushes like blackberry bushes but with smaller stickers. There are also a lot of pretty big trees. In this area we have several trails connecting a pretty large area. WE know it like the back of our hand because we are always there it is real cool. Only problem is we don't own this area and it is up for sale.
There is also this long dirt road that we have to take to get to the cabin, it is about half a mile. We sometimes play on the road. Example. One or two people go around a sharp corner and one or two people are on the other side of the corner. then you have to attack each other. Another game we played on the road is sniper.(Not the kind of sniper where you get shot from 2 miles away) But one person goes up the road and hides in the bushes (on both sides all the way up the road is nothing but bushes and trees. One side of the road has a big hill the other side has a steep drop off) Then the other two people (two or more) go up the road and try to find the first person. We played that sniper game at night once at about 9:00, it was so dark there I couldn't see my brother when he was 10 ft away from me.
Well that's about all:eyes: for now anyways, there are a couple other places we play but this post has gotten pretty long and you're probably not even reading what I am writing here. Since you're not reading this yo mamma is fat:) jk

That beach area sounds pretty phat dude.
yeah that beach place sounds awesome. I live in the Willamette Valley in Oregon and I live right by a river (Tualitin River). Right behind my neighborhood there is tons of trees, forest. Perfect for Paintball. I got a question though, I'm a newbie and I as wondering if it is safe/OK to play outlaw back behind my house? any suggestions?

Maybe
I don't know how close these woods are to peoples houses, if there is any chance of hitting somebodys house from the woods I would say no, or be very deep in the woods and very careful. Also find out who owns the land you will be playing on. If you are playing out there and the owner is a big A:pissed: :pissed: hole, he might get you guys in trouble. If somebody owns it ask them nicely if you can play on it and explain to them what paintball is. Maybe show them your marker (CALL IT A MARKER NOT A GUN) explain how it uses co2 or n2 to make the little paintball fly. Maybe even ask them if they want to play(if they are a senior citizen forget that part) and then maybe mention that you will all be wearing masks and when not playing you have barrl plugs so that if the marker were to fire onaccident no one would get hurt. It sounds like it would be a cool place to play, so if you handle it right you have a cheep (free) place to play whenever you want;)
Let me know how it turns out

Outlaw is very fun. Personalized fields kick a*$. To repeat the important facts though, be sure if you do not own the area to make sure it is ok with the owner. and be sure that your parents are ok with it, unless your like 18 or over. Also be sure to notify neighbors or those that might be close to the area that you will be playing. Always play safely with the goggles and barrel plug, do this to protect yourself or just because if someone is uncomfortable it would ease their discomfort. Be sure to say what your going to do to the area, your mom or the landowner might not appreciate broken cars and trenches on their property.
Action Pursuit Games says that Outlaw play is usually not illegal but if your freakin out you could call the local authorities ( :dodgy: I would not do this, I would rather have them come over only when there is a problem-but you might)
Yeah I looked around and it isn't anyones property, just open field the city owns and doesn't ever use, the houses might be too close in some areas, but there are lots of places with no houses anywhere, it should be real good.

I live east of seattle, right on the foothills of the cascades (north bend? ring a bell?). We go up a gravel pit deep in the woods that is owned by the county. They gave us clearance to play so its all good. Its a HUGE crater of gravel in the middle of a pretty thick forest. Theres a wall of gravel on the sides of it, and there is a huge mountain with a bunker on top, and then there is a water pumphouse down below. We usually sneak around the sides of the pit and ambush people at the pumphouse and bunker. Then we have built rock and gravel bunkers all around. WAY WAY WAY more fun than ANY commercial feild. Good times, good times. Im going to be taking pictures up there this weekend. Email me at mshspbguy@yahoo.com for pictures. BTW, im the president of our paintball club :)

Outlaw field more fun than any commercial field? You should really try Weekend Warriors if you haven't, that's the best field I've ever played at (Truth is, I haven't played many ;)), and gives you somewhat of a taste as to what tourney fields are like.

im sure that weekend warriors is fun i just havn't played there. Its just the camaraderie of all my freinds there at the pit. The closest commercial feild to my house is an hours drive. Its hole in the wall paintball. Its got good feilds, but there staff REALLY sucks a big one. They broke my gun twice in the same day and made me pay 20$ to rent a M98 on my birthday party. *******s... oh well. And about running out of air, most of us have two tanks for air, so if someone runs out then we can let them use one of our extras. ya, going to the pit on tuesday, so i might be able to have the pictures up by friday (day after thanksgiving) then im going to the pit again on saturday. Yep yep. talk to me at my email which is stated above.
