What would happen if you were to machine the inside of the rear bolt in a 98c in some way? It seems to me if you were to drill holes or something in the back it could be made MUCH lighter, which would result in a lighter kick, wouldn't it? Or would the new bolt not have enough mass to activate the powertube? thanks

Or could'nt you try making one out of delrin? I dunno...

I might be able to, if I had a clue what delrin was or where to get it.

It's what a lot of bolts are made out of now-a-days. It's this weird, self-lubricating plastic type stuff. I dunno where you can pick it up but ask spyderman. I believe he has some and if not he prolly knows where to get it.

delrin would be much to light the front bolt could be made out of delrin but the back bolt needs the weigt to release the air in the valve

Normally, yes.
However, you could just get a lighter valve spring to compensate for the lesser momentum of the rear bolt. ;)

I would say do the delrin thing (if you have the resources, if not, just drill holes in the one you have...), and let us know how it goes!

hey these Model 98 Lite Titanium Hammers seem to do exactly what i was talking about, plus the fact that the titanium is slicker than the stock steel bolt. Thinkin I'll order a new stock bolt, go paintballing this weekend, then next week ill drill into the stock bolt and see if the lighter bolt makes a difference. If it's a bad difference, I'll swap it out with the newly ordered stock bolt, if not, ill leave it and return the new bolt.

all bases covered. Oh yeah.

OK, does no one make a delrin bolt for the 98c?

I went to McMaster-carr and they sell delrin rods, custom delrin bolt here we come! Anyone know any companies that make delrin bolts for 98c's? I need some design ideas....

Wish me luck eh?
btw tipp98, thanks for the delrin idea

hey hold up a second...

Why aren't bolts made of teflon?? Can it not stand up to the pressure or something? Seems ideal to me...
