I have a 32 degrees icon Z and just got a new spring for it. The guy that gave it to me said it was a "high velocity" spring. Anyways He told me to cut it to the size of the stock spring or a lil shorter. Well it was about 0.5 cm longer then the stock and i decided not to cut it and installed it. Well I decided to dry fire my gun and it shot like a beast! It was so loud and c02 was comming out of the vertical feed ( didn't have a hopper on) BTW it was the air c02 not the liquid stuff.
I want to chronograph the gun but for now I can't. Does anyone think this will wreck my gun?? oh and will cutting it help lower the velocity if i can't get it under 300??

Cut the spring, you're letting too much CO2 through. But first, mae sure you shoot yourself for buying an Icon Z.:P .

HEY,
DONT CUT IT! They make them long for a reason. Just turn the velocity down is all you have to o. They make it longer so you can let more co2 through or so you can turn the velocity down and use less co2 0r HPA(whatever you use). Seriously though, i never cut my spring and it works fine for me once i turn the velocity down. Good luck and happy hunting.

Why are Icon Z's bad? its an exact replica of an E-99 without the electric trigger.

Actually, the Icon-z doesnt have an electronic trigger frame, thats the Icon-e. The Icon-z is the mech version.

Usually you want light main springs......Not hard... lol
but... since u have it, try taking the shim out, you dont need that anyways. If u have already done that... and the velocity adjuster is all the way out, you have no choice but to cut it. But you wont know untill you get it chrono'd. Bring some wire cutters with u next time you go.

try one or two coils. it would help alot if you had a chrono. and no it doesnt matter which side.

how come? easier having a kit so you can just switch out one spring for another instead of cutting little by little or possibly cutting too much.

ya thats true.... but if i can't get it under 300 cutting it should help it right?? and not ruin the gun

Cutting it will do it.... but just dont cut to much... because then it could ruin the spring and your marker wouldnt shoot fast enough.
