RVA and the original VA

How high should the velocity be set at on the original velocity adjuster when a rear velocity adjuster is put on?

I usually screw my stock velocity adjuster in most of the way ( to the lowest velocity point ), then back it out over a chrono until I get close to the velocity I want. I use the RVA to fine tune it exactly where I want.
