I've noticed that at the field I usually go to, some people don't use barrel plugs or barrel condoms. They use their SQUEEGEE! People will take they're battle swab and just shove it down the barrel. The field owner even uses his squeegee in his Angel; he puts like an inch of his pull-thru down the barrel. Now what if he were to accidently bump the trigger? I'd imagine the squeegee would come flyin' out along with a bunch of paintballs! :eek:

If I'm just being paranoid about my eyesight or something, let me know. But to me this doesn't seem safe.

doesnt seen safe to me buyt he could have the marker safty on or turnedoff or whatever. But yea It depends how tight it is some barrel plugs arnt safe either.

At my field where I ref/play at, if someone is going to use a Battle Swab as a Barrel Plug (Which is VERY VERY rare) and we encourage them to use a Barrel Condom.

When the players are coming on/off the field, we (the refs) make them disconnect their Air Supply and just not put their guns on safe mode.

This provides some additional margin of safety.

Using a squeegie is not safe, ive personally seen them fly out the end of a gun on a few occasions. Good fitting barrel plus or condom is the best way to go.

That field owner should be DEMANDING that everyone have a tight fitting barrel plug or condom on thier gun when not playing to keep this game alive for all.

I think feild owners and feild refs set the tone.. i have seen them even use sticks as barrel plugs. I mean thats not safe I like the barrel condoms and the new redz ones =)

Just thought I'd give my opinion. I only know ONE person who uses a squegee, a straight shot, as his barrel plug. He is really safe about it, it fits as snug as his barrel plug, and it doesn't move around at all when he's walking, plus he points it down. Its convenient for him, becuase he holds (?) his straight shot. Just my two cense. Not condoning it, just saying if you do it right, all is well.

I think its fine to use a straight shot squeegee as a barrel plug, it fits nice and goes all the way down the barrel. However pull through squeege I cant see working cause there so flimsy and could get in very good.
