Lately...I've been chafing and...n/m
What type of oil/grease should I buy for my Pirahna? I've been using Hoppes No. 9 from my gun cleaning kit but it eats o-rings

Get some gold cup paintball gun oil...or PMI oil or a similar paintball gun oil....make sure it's a paintball gun oil. I use gold cup myself!

I agree with some of the other posts in this column. You should only be using oil that was designed for use on a paintball gun only. Some will swear by using alternative and sometimes cheaper sources of oil, but some (not all) have ingredients inside the oil that will actually break down the orings in your paintball gun.
Hope this helps

I use gold cup oil on my 98. Haven't had any problems with this oil, keeps my 98 ticking :D
By the way, I heard the PMI oil is a little thicker than gold cup so it lasts a little longer. Is there any truth to this?

I have to use alternatives, I cant find paintball oil anywhere in the UK. I phoned a local field to see where they got their oil and the owner said "Don't bother wasting your money on fancy oil, just use light 3in1 oil and you'll be fine"
Their gun's seem to be in good condition, and they take alot of use so I trust her on it.

Well.. yes.
I use PMI Perfect oil and it does sink to the bottom of goldcup when the two are mixed.

sewing machine oil is made from the same most paintball gun oil is made of. also for your bolt white lithium grease works really well

well, As long as its not petroleum jelly, its not going to matter much. eventually orings were out anyway, so just buy some gun oil.

I would definitly have to agree with porkchop and the iisports rep...paintball gun oil is designed for your gun...3 in 1 isn't. Honestly...after buying a freeking gun 3 bucks for a 1 oz bottle of gold cup that will last you forever and a day isnt' taht big of a deal...maybe you could get someone in the US to send it to you if you cant find it in the UK. I use to use 3 in 1...I learned my lesson....gold cup doesn't gum up either does PMI... but I have had many experiences with 3 in 1 gumming up.
