View Full Version : LPR creep

I've had a timmy for a few weeks now, and have the low pressure mod on it. My problem is that I set the low pressure to 85-90 psi, but the pressure will slowly creep up to about 130 psi within a few minutes. If I fire a shot, the pressure goes back to 85 psi. This happens very slowly--I can just barely see the pressure move, but if I look after a few minutes, the pressure is up. Like I mentioned, it tops out at about 130.

My setup is a set pressure screw in tank (a centerflag nitro) that goes to a centerflag hyper in line regulator (set to about 225 psi). I try to have the in line reg set at 220-230 and the Low pessure reg on the marker set to 85-90 psi. This gives me about 290 fps, just where I want it.

I have taken the LPR apart and cleaned and lubed it, but the problem is not fixed. Anyone have any ideas what I should do?

Thanks in advance!

u prolly just got some dirt inside the reg housing, take the LP reg off clean all of it up, grease it back up and put it back on.

Thanks for the quick reply.

I did take off the regulator and clean it, so that is not the problem. I will do it again, however. Any other ideas?

After you screw off the regulator shell, look inside and remove the 3/8" brass nut with the pin coming out of it.
Behind this nut is a little o-ring.
This o-ring is your regulator seat.
If it is the least bit dirty, it will creep up.
If you have already done the LP mod, you have an extra o-ring from the top regulator.
Hope this helps.
