I set my regulator to the advised pressure set by kingman "600-700psi" , however when set at this pressure my gun only shoots 268fps. Should I raise the pressure of the regulator or is there something else I can do?

At the pressure 650 I have the velocity screw screwed all the way in. Does this put alot of pressure on the marker? Could it cause damage to the gun?

i would just get a spring kit and run a stiffer spring in back of the striker to keep the reg set to kingman standards;)

OK, but does having the velocity screw all the way in put too much pressure on the marker?

No, but it will wear your spring down faster. And I mean like 50,000 cycles instead of 75,000. So it's really no big deal.
If you have to crank it up all the way though, you might consider getting a stiffer spring eventually, just because it will be more consistent. (so i hear, I don't know if there have been any tests on this). If you do, keep your stock spring, in case you decide to go LP (and clip the spring, then extend the remains.)

Hope this helps

When you say stiffer spring, what exaclty do you mean, are the springs rated for stiffness or what? If so what is the stock spring on a spyder extra?

Some springs are stiffer, thus exert more force. Others are the opposite. Try finding a spring 'kit', which should include like 4 striker springs in varying degrees. You can move them around until you find something you like, and if you ever change anything, you have another spring waiting for you. I think Shocktech has a spyder spring kit somewhere...

I know 32* and madman have spring kits for like $10...I think they come with 4 main springs and 4 valve springs of varying stiffness...well whatever them come with their plenty to fix whatever velocity probs you have. I would get one as apposed to cliping springs...just cough up the $10....it's well worth it. See I have a hardcore old spyder...so I can just back out my big *** front valve cover screw thinger and release pressure on the valve thus making it stay open longer...dont you wish you had a hardcore old spyder like me.... :D
