so Im chillen out at the local shop owned by kapp and im talking to the guy that works there. I forget what we were talking about, but this 11 year old comes in with his friend and mom. I runs straight for the wall with the guns and stands behind the counter pointing at the dm4. I want that one!!! it looks soo cool!!! The lady asks the guy how much the gun is and he gives them an overview of the gun and the kid is not interested anymore:eek:. He points to the strange vision next. Guy mentions that the gun is not very popular and has been there for about 5 months. Kid says "I want that one now!! Mom goes alright Ill come around and pick it up tomorrow. HOw much was it again, that avenger? "its a strange vision made by smart parts," I said because I couldn't take it any longer. So now this lady is going to buy her kid a thousand dollar gun and the kid has never played before:eyes: .

Befriend the kid, and if he decides he doesn't like paintball then buy the marker for really cheap. He probably doesnt know the value of money and will sell it for les than $100. In the end that family ends up out several hundred dollars and you get a sweet, barely used marker.

lol:laugh:   thats funny , no its hilarious but i would befriend the kid and trick him into thinkin that paintball sux ( it doesnt ) and then buy it from him for cheap say " look here is ths orion at wal-mart and its made by vl and its the best ill give you one hundred dollars so you can buy this and a game"

IM very evil and have evil schemes and i have done some of them before:devil:  but dont be to obvious!!

Spoiled freaking brat should start with a piranha or tippmann like everyone else hell. Oh well some parents will buy their kids anything he'll change his mind on it when he gets shot like fifty times doind something stupid you probably won't even have to wait for him to sell it he'll probably just throw it on the ground and leave it there. When i think of the fact that he'll never lube that marker it makes me shudder with rage. :pissed:

I would see if you can trade markers with him kids are stupid convince him that yours is better make up something newbs like to hear tell him it's full auto or it's a super sniper Angel or something retarded like that. That poor strange vision is probably suffering as we speak man damn rich punk.:pissed:

This reminds me of a story....

Well, it was a good morning and it was during Thanksgiving break (this was 1 and a half years ago). I got ready to go to my friends party which happened to be at a speedball/woodballfield. Anyway, back then, I was not much of a newb but I did not have a gun. (when I first started paintball, I did nothing but rent for like 1 year) My friend was a newb and most of the other guys in the party were newbs.
When I got to the party, I saw all the newbs with Angels,Cockers, expensive Impulses and they were all upgraded the n00b way. You know, lazer sights, like 5 scopes and a ridiculously long barrels. I felt so uncomfortable because I was like the only guy renting and the only guy (except for a few) with paintball experience. I asked some of the guys ( How long have you been playin and is that gun new? They replied: This is my first time and I just bought this like a couple of days ago. I had mixed feelings :( :pissed: and I admit, I was jealous
When it came time to playing, I have to admit, those n00bs sucked. All they did was hide and use 1 hopper full of paint the whole day.

They were not all noobs, some were really good and experienced.

Let the kid be. If he sucks, he sucks. Just remember your better than him, and thats all you need to know.

The kid could have gotten a DM4 but he didn't want it? Ask his mom if she will adopt me for a day to take me to the proshop.

don't be so hard on the kid. i meen, his parents must of worked very hard for the money and what better thing to do with that money than buy your kid a gun.(don't u wish your parents bought you a $1000 gun) the gun is way over his skill but the kid might become very good over the time he plays.

the kid is dumb though. how could he of not chosen the DM4. someone should have said something. =)

i bet hes gunna put a scope and a 21 in. barrel on it,

on the lighet side...i hate it too, when n00bs buy expensive guns out-of-the gate. the kid really would been better of if he bought that Orion Paintballrocks was talking about.

In my opinion, I think the kid is spoiled rotten and if my kid asked for a 1000$ gun? I'd tell him to get a damn job. Kids that age should start with a friggin Eraticator just like everyone else. He will probably lose interest as young men often do, and his Mom will learn a very expensive lesson. As a shop keeper, I would not let a parent buy a 10 year old a 1000$ gun. (a moral decision) Hell, I don't even have a 1000$
gun. (shakes her head) *sigh*

If I was the shop keaper hell I would point them to the most expensive gun first and sell it to them and make a couple bucks.

My girlfriend and I both work full time jobs plus overtime and I don't even have a $1000 gun.
My current setup was $175 used. Before that, $120 new. Does it mean I don't love paintball or don't have fun? No. It just means I don't have the extra money to shell out on my hobby.
I have a lot of fun with paintball. There's nothing like the feeling of hearing anyone with their $1000 setup shouting "Hit" after they were just dissing my Orion or Bruizer in the staging area. :D

It really doesn't tick me off though that a kid has an expensive marker, it ticks me off that they have no respect for how much money and how much work mom and dad had to do to get that expensive marker.
Especially when they throw tantrums, slam it to the ground, etc.

Damn kids! This the real FBS, BTW. Not my little bro. When I started off, I had a reg. PMI SRT, a 14 oz. tank, and a bunch of other stuff that was dearly paid for! I used up the rest fo the money I had saved up since I had been 6. That's right, I spent the $500.00 dollars i had literally saved up my entire life to buy my gun. My parents would not give me any money for it, not even to pay for the season's pass at Area 51. Today's youth are too damn spoiled. Then again, I was a youth a couple of years ago...

heck i am a youth and my parents won't buy me anything even remotely related to paintball. its just luck of the draw.

Every hooby has these who spend lots of cash for new ppl. Altho it can be useful eg:

Modeling buying a cheap aircompressor for your airbrush, high quality files and drill bits

I agree 100% that an 11 yearold shouldn't have a $1000 gun that will "die" due to impropper care, get use to it you will see this happen more and more, i also think that a kid of his age will have a hard time using it it weight, size and the tank weight and size.

I wish my parents would have bought me that as my first gun! >_<

don't get mad dude, he's just a spoiled brat. I bet that kid didn't know how to turn the gun on anyway. He probably broke it by now  But i wish my mom bought me a gun.

That's really dumb. Most people have to work to play paintball. Meh, I do and it took me six months just to buy myself a BKO and those are considered affordable.

LOl i feel so spoiled now! Well i been playing paintball for about 4 years now. My first gun was a spyder amg. My dad bought me the gun plus a nitrogen tank for it. The only reason he did this was because when he got layed off he couldnt afford to buy me anything. No birthday or christmas present. Call me spoiled if you want, but i did buy my 2004 eclipse factory edition autococker all by myself. Meaning every danmed penny!

Well when I started out I went out and bought a Tippy 98c a full year b4 I went paintballing  but It did give me time to bond with my gun. and I payed for it all by my self IN CASH!!! w00t!!! and now I'm finally moving up with a Matrix and I'm currently taking a loan from my grand ma. ^^ the only thing my mom has bought me so far was 2 cases of paint when I started to go dry and REALLY wanted to go paintballing and a barrel plug...which I used once then got a barrel condom...oh yeah..I've seen worst..there was an 10 year old kid with a dragon Timmy at my field we eventually wound up in the same bunker eventually and I took out 2 guys on the other team when I posted and after the game he was braggin about those same kills...which were MINE!!! ever since I can't stand 11 year olds with set ups more than $600. btw I hope you sold that kid some HPA I 'd hate to see a strange vision running on un-syphoned co2

6? isn't that a little young? o well...zeuses(is that the plural?) are nice and they only run for a $100 ^^ I say its the perfect starting marker because of the limited magazine capacity you'll focus on accuracy rather than volume. besides...at least he doesn't have a $500 marker at that age...

^ I started with a tippman 98 c, tried some speedball, loved that, gave the 98 c to a friend and got myself a TES only a couple months ago. I had to work for that money, as do we all. I mean, I know a kid who's dad owns a sports team, he buys the kid a new paintball gun every other week, He litterally has a pile of guns in the middle of his room. Also I know this paintball fanatic (i mean FANATIC), he spent every extra minute he had on paintball and reading and buying, fixing everything. You know what college he went to? so burn out one way up north.

It all depends on priorities i say, My 'rents taught me only to spend so much on something, Hence a TES instead of a Nightkast or anything.

yeah i was playing once and wound up in the same bunker as a kid w/ a totally tricked e-orracle. i was playing rec and was getting totally ambushed and yet the kid would not stick his head out of the bunker to help me shoot. he asked if my gun was a "full auto" which it was (e99) and he said he would only shoot if he could use the auto. so i let him use my gun and i got to shoot the e-orracle MUAHAHAHA. but anyways he was gonna trade me :) but then his super buff dad walked up with his gz timi and asked what was goin on.(i told the dad i was teaching the kid about cockers) anyways 95% of my paintball equipment has been paid for by me and that gives me satisfaction knowing that i didnt just mooch (sp) off my parents for it

as soon as my nephew is strong enough to actualy hold the VMX propperly hes gnna be useing that instead.... although its the Zeus or the Xtra that he uses. the Zeus is undergoing upgrades and repairs at the moment.

put a bottomline kit on the thing and it damned near froze the gun straigh through.... that pissed me off royaly because the gun didnt do that at all when i put the bottomline on it. got it on the field, put the tank on an boom. zues-cicle...
