i was at my local paintball store today. i hadn't been there in a while and in between my last visit i had sold my m98c and bought a minimag. i was talking to the guy who usually works there and he said that m98c is just as good as the minimag except it costs less. according to him, you can get the same ROF with a m98c as you can with a mag. ive noticed that i can shoot much faster with the mag. it is also 10x more accurate and quiet IMO. what do you guys think?

I don't think a m98 would be able to keep up with a mag.

Only takes one or two shots to put out a mag. :D It ain't necessarily about the ROF. If I can sneak up on you (and I can do that to a LOT of people....Angels included), all I need to do is lay one shot into your back...and you're out for the game.
I think ROF is overrated. Play smart. That's my motto. Why shoot 10 balls (and waste paint), when, if I'm careful, I can just use 1 or two to nail ya?
Heck. I agree with the store owner. Just go with the Tippy.
But then I'm biased. I'm a M98 owner myself.

try both guns out and decide on wich one you liked better. try out a variety of things to dont just decide on one thing keep an open mind

crime dog, i usually play speedball so sneaking up isnt really an option. in the woods i keep my shots to a minimum though. in a day at the field, i try to keep it to 600 rounds or less. the guy just used the ROF as an example of why the two are equal.
sickness , i had a m98 but sold it and got the mag. i like the mag a lot more. maybe it was the paint to barrel match, but the m98's accuracy was terrible. i had a j&j ceramic. i shot team colors which literally did 45 degree turns or spirals sometimes, or proball which was better but still not very good. the mag is so much easier to maintain too. i can clean it in 15 minutes when it would usually take me 45 minutes to clean the m98.
i have nothin against m98's (my friend's m98RT is awesome), but i would choose a mag over it anyday . :)

i have a tricked model 98 custom...and i spank my friend with his mag all over the place. i love his gun but i like mine alot better...so the moral of the story is go with whats the best fit to you. also my friend and i are about the same skill level. :P

Lets put it this way it matters on what you got going with yor guns...stock vs. stock mini mag is better.

Minimags are better and on a speedball field rate of fire is a huge factor

well you already formed an opion on the guns.. i dont think it really matters what we think, but hey thats just what i think..
markers are mostly about personal preference.
alot of us havnt shot both guns, so we dont know exactly how to compare it except for what we heard about it. (and of course people will have biased views [leaning towards their own marker])

Yes albert's right....I have shot both and own neither...however I would have done the same thing you did. If the mag doesn't give you any other edge (which I doubt it doesnt) atleast you still have the mental edge that you are shooting a mag.
