i play front. For tank size, i'm getting a 68ci tank with a dropforward. As a front player, you don't want to create a high profile, so you carry small things. Carry a 4 vert harness, a gun with a tank mounted on it, preferably with a drop forward. As for playing the position, keep alert. You will attract most of the gunfire cuz you will be up front. Tuck in tight, and make sure that all ofy ou is inside the bunker. YOu'd be surprized at how many times people get out cuz they stuck out a hopper or part of the harness out of the bunker by accident. Snap shooting is a must when you are playing front. You won't have time liket he back players to string off large amounts of paintballs..you have maybe one second in tourney play. You need to take the advantage by snap shooting your way into domination. Also, stay low and move fast when changing bunkers. YOu are in a very vulnerable spot. keep your head low, haul ***, and slide into your new bunker, and start snap shooting again. be prepared to do some crazy stuff...front players need to pull off some nice moves to get the team going.

have your harness on really tight so that it wont wobble when you run.matter of you should do that always.

if you do get a harness make sure you try it on before you buy it b/c there is nothing worse that running and slidding with an uncomfortable harness. If oyu want to improve your snap shooting/ability to not get a crappy hopper hit b/c it was sticking out, get nice and comfy behind a bunker at home and have a friend give you suggestions. This will help a lot.

get either a Redz, Extreme rage, Rase, or Jacko pack. They wrap around your body very comfortably, and gikve you comfort and low profile.

My best startegy to date is counting on the humeness of my opponents. I will take cover behind a bunker and just shoot a few, pop down and move very very quickly to the next bunker, and keep moving until I am like 100 feet away. My barrel is accurate enough to knock them out. That is something else you want, maybe a 12" or 10" barrel. Nothing too long because it only gets in your way. Thats why I carry a short and a long barrel when I play. Also get a neoprene hopper cover so you dont attract attention.

why a neoprene hopper cover? how will that help you ? I don't understand?
Thanks,

I may be a newbie in this forum, but I have been playing for a couple of years, and one thing is my best target, hoppers. One, a neoprene camo cover, for about 9 dollars, will muffle the noise of a front man who is half out of paintballs. Two, it makes the hopper less of a target for the enemy if it blends in with the background. Also it adds cool looks to your gun.

id get a 10 in barrel because when u play up front you can suffer some accuracy for a more compact set up. Id also suggest a barrel with lots of porting unless your running an extreme LP set up(about 200psi).

Is there a major problem with a front player using a remote?

no except the it could probaly get tangled with your arm.

i'd go with an on gun setup. If you use remote, that means you will have to get a bigger harness, which in turn means that you will get a higher profile and more of a chance of getting shot.

get a drop forward. As a front player, you're gonna need to squeeze into bunkres really tight, and you're gonna want to have your gun tucked it with you.

How does a dropforward make you a smaller target? but anyway whats a good dropforward
TLplus84
03-11-2001, 04:17 PM
it makes you a smaller target by allowing you to get closer to your bunker wall. IF the overall length of the gun is..say..32 inches, and you have a dropforward of 8 inches, then you can get 8 inches closer to the bunkr. THat may not be much, but to front players, it makes a difference.

Whenever you are changing bunkers, keep low because the smaller you are, the smaller target they have to shoot at. Also, if you are able to, get someone in the back, or around you, to fire some shots around where the enemy is if you are planning to change spots because if they are down because of incoming fire, they won't be up shooting at you.

I have learned somethings about the guys i play with. if u shoot about 3 shots then 1 more a little bit after that they will think about comming up after the 3 then when the other one comes they knpow not to come out. then u can move fast and when i say fast i mean hall "a double s". then you run up to them shoot them once or twice and keep goin it works all the time for me. :)
