would shaving off the part of the reciever the has the velocity screw in it affect any thing?

lol, I accidently did that to my tippmann, and now I can't adjust my velocity screw. The part where the velocity screw screws into (not sure what it's called?) I shaved the plastic around it and now it won't screw in right.

no not on the power tube but on the reciever

I guess it wont hurt anything other than the paintjob. As long as you can still access the screw it wont effect the functioning of the marker.
That is, if I think that you talking about the little ridge around the outside edge of the reciever that kinda sticks up.

You should be fine as long as you don't shave near the velocity screw.
