I know you guys get sick of all of these XXX vs XXX threads, but I have to make a decision...
I am looking into getting a new LPR. I have narrowed my options down to a Mac Dev Sonic LPR or a Hoseless Micro Rock. I like the Sonic LPRs a lot, but the Hoseless Micro Rocks are very nice too, and I hear work just as well. The only thing I have a delema over is that I do not have an aftermarket volumizer on my BKO, so a long LPR and a short Volumizer would look wicked bad. Hmm what should I do?
PS deleate this if you must.

I was having the same dilemma so I bugged a man who i figured tried them both out. Here is Shootpaints response back to me. Travis if you have a problem with me posting this lmk and I will delete is ASAP.

I own both and they both preform quite well.
I will give you some information that I have from my own personal testing I
have done.
With the Rock installed and the pressure set to 90 psi, this was done with a
Mac Dev LPR gauge. I was able to cycle the solenoid and watch the pressure
gauge cycle back to 90 psi everytime the trigger was pulled.
With the Sonic installed and set to 90psi, again according to the Sonic
gauge, I was able to cycle the solenoid and watch the gauge cycle back to
within + or - 2 PSI after each shot. According to the gauge the Sonic was
not quite as consistant as the Rock but it still preformed quite well.
With the Rock on my marker I was able to tune the marker to Plus or Minus
.5FPS. That is not a typo by the way it is .5 not 5 fps.
With the Sonic on my marker I was able to run the marker at a lower pressure
than the Rock but it was not quite as consistant. The marker usually plus or
minus 2 fps with the Sonic lpr. This is still very good but not quite as
good as the Rock. The only difference in the marker that was used for these
test was the LPR. Everything else remained the same in the marker.
The Rock is suppose to have better overload capabilites than the Sonic. The
Rock doesnt flow with the cosmetics of the marker near as well as the Sonic.
The Rock has better adjustment range than the Sonic. The Sonic has a lower
profile than the Rock.
Etc.....
As you can see we can go on and on about which of these two regs would be
the best for your marker. My personal opinion is the Rock edges out the
Sonic LPR but not by much. You would have a very good reg with either reg it
truely is up to you. Either way you go you will come out with a better
preforming reg than the stock one.

Thanks yoda, but what about the looks aspect? Would it look that bad?

They all work about the same. Get the one that looks the best.

The sonic would look the best, and is a couple dollars cheaper, but I like the review Yoda posted that Travis wrote, I am still stuck on which to get...

I would probally go with the vapor lpr because you can put any cocker lprs on it. Nice.

Id go with the rock. I dont think it will look too fugly. And JB, you have a pre 2k4 BKO, right (because you said you have a volumizer). I dont think the longer rock will look bad with the short volumizer, and if you want to down the road, just get a Mitey Max.

Want another option?
Greg does a wicked Lpr modification. It opens the flow alot.
I used it on my thunderstuck it works great, I went with the zentriam mount and a blue rock just so all my regulators would match. The performance is the same, the rock looks cooler in my opinion though. Even better than the Sonic

Hey JB if you don't mind me hijacking your thread for a moment, let me ask a question.
QUESTION: I thought you could only use the Hoseless Micro Rock Adapters on 2K4 BKO's and B2K's, true or false?

True: for earlier BKO's you need the zenitram ASA Adapter to be able to fit autococker LPR's.
Shameless Plug: I do have a 90* for sale :)

Thanks Polemos for giving me the idea of Greg's LPR mod, my friend has it and I see how great it is, but I do not wish to send my gun out anymore(I just sent it out for PDS). Also thanks to everyone else replied, I think I am going to go with the Sonic LPR just because of the looks alone. They are both great LPRs, but I just think it would look really ugly to have a short volumizer cap with a long LPR, but the hoseless micro rocks look wicked nice!
