I've seen a lot of post here about uni-mounts and drops.
Here's a few (crappy webcam) pics of me and my 04 BKO
The pics on the left show a Uni-mount and the pics on the right show a Dead-on drop forward. I'm posting this because I see a lot of posts on this subject with no pics for reference. Sorry about the quality but the pics are still good enough to see how tight you can get with either setup.

With the Uni the gun is lower, farther forward, and tilted to left. The makes the marker more comfortable to shoot since I don't have to bend my wrist at an akward angle. Also, with the gun tilted I can sight over the top of the barrel(for me this is better than sighting down the side).
With the drop the gun is closer to me but way too tall and top heavy. Also, the hopper is sticking up over my head making me an easier target.
With the drop I feel tighter and more "tucked in". However, being smaller from the front is better for me since that's where most incoming shots should come from. Being small from the side doesn't mean much since it means you just got flanked anyways.

A rail is like a unimount, goes with the CP on/off ASA that you put on the rail which is on the bottom of your gripframe. Same concept as a uni.

yep. there've been several debates about this, definately worthy of a sticky.
so a rail is basically a unimount with a removable on/off, right?

I think its sticky worthy. Im not trying to start an arguement, but so many people think they can get tighter with a drop, when in fact it only feels tighter. They've been arguing about it over and over, but this picture actually shows you what you need to know. Unless your constintaly being shot at from the side, Id go with a uni/rail. Great pic man, I hope you dont mind when I refer back to this thread when general paintball talk has another drop vs. uni thread.

You can use a rail w/ any rail mount ASA's and there are more choices for rails out there. I prefer a rail because i already have an ON/OFF, so its cheaper.

Thanks for the warm welcome...
I have just moved in my apartment...and my ISP (cable company)...was giving trouble with the account ...2 months worth...on top of that with the new place you tend to get busy with painting, moving, set stuff up...asking days off waiting for the cabl;e guy...if not the furniture delivery etc...busy months ...but all is stabilizing lil by lil..hopefully...
Thx again...nice to be back!

as for uni's, i just got mine, and while i didn't like it at first, I love it now. i was just really used to drops. the uni(actually cp rail) puts my tank securely on my shoulder, and as the pictures show, am less exposed. also, it doesn't feel so akward and your wrist wont be sore with a uni. highly recommended!

I only like my drop because I'm used to them. I wish they would make something like a uni, but it goes forward, but not down. so its a mix between a uni and a drop

I only like my drop because I'm used to them. I wish they would make something like a uni, but it goes forward, but not down. so its a mix between a uni and a drop Like a CP Rail? also, the smallest Dye drop, I forget if it's called a mini or micro drop but its one of the two, it hardly drops the tank at all, just moves it foward about 2 inches to shorten the setup. So thats a good choice.
I've got a drop cause its what I've always used, but now I'm kinda finding myself wanting a Unimount more and more even though I used to hate them just a couple months ago.
