Hey

Team Paradox, will be trying to earn money to compete in the Draxxus IAO (International Amateur Open) in Pittsburgh, PA. The dates are from Jully 21-25. We have a 7-man team, and need to raise about 5000 dollars to get there and play, and come home too.

If you could please help that would be awesome.

Thanks,
Dan

$5000 to compete in the IAO? Does this include a used car or something? Anyway, that's a hefty price... I'd reccomend selling some of your gear and doing some fundraisers.

The price is an estimated price for 7 people, because we hope to enter in rookie as a 7 man team. That includes hotel fees, registration fees, gas fees, and paint fees. Thank for the advice. Any form of help is welcome.

$5000 between 7 people, in about a month. Wow, that'd be easy. Get jobs, mow lawns, basically don't stop working until you have enough. I am assuming you're still in school right?

that reminds me of the joke in off topic about raffling off a donkey and the donkey dies so he only has to pay back one person, the winner, lol. I would say invest about $200 in a manly gas grill and raffle it off. Go with something that every family feels like they need, but dont have. like a set of craftsman tools. thats the way to go. and make the tickets about $1-$2 each.

lol, rob a bank, what a great idea, jk.

lurker's place on the team is in question, no offense to him, only because he hasn't finished his custom spyder. lol (which is awesome might i add)

and about the job think, i have applyed to a bunch of places no answers yet lol. and about the lawn thing, every one hires that green thumb "landscaping" place to cut there lawns. lol

other ideas to try to earn money are appreciated.

I particularly like the raffle one.

Thanks for your help all.

Oh, and to get the point straight, I am not really begging for money (money would be nice lol), but just suggestions at making money quickly(no scams please:pissed: )

In the time you spend on PBR here asking people for ideas you could've made a good amount of money. Work! Buy posters, write in big sharpie "I do yardwork" with your phone number, make flyers and put them on peoples doorsteps, etc. Put forth the effort and it will pay off. Noone here will have a magical quick way to get you money.

As far as begging goes, your original post was a bit...yeah. :P

If you don't want to work for money, how do you expect to get money or make money. I'm sorry but I don't like assuming this but are you one of the kids who has your parents pay for everything, and when they say no for this tournament you are in a muck and can't get money cause you don't wanna work for it. I had to hold off paintball for 4 months just so I can play a few tournaments this summer & pay for paint. And now that after I worked my butt off I know have a decent gun. If you don't wanna work for money then expect no money.

Jerk? Where was I a jerk? I gave you the truth. Congratulations, you just ruined your chance of anyone donating anything.

There is no way in hell there isn't anyone around you who won't let you do yardwork or ANYTHING else to make money. (pet sitting, babysitting, pool labor? local stores? other manual labor like roof building companies?) So don't try to tell me that. You don't know your whole town, you obviously haven't tried making posters and getting your name out there. If you're not willing to put forth the effort to make money, you don't deserve it.

And I gave him a suggestion in a perfectly fine manner and he decided to respond in a non-friendly tone. He's obviously not willing to accept the fact that working is the only decent way to make money.

Sorry I took that offensively. I apoligize. Maybe I have a job, and make money, but am trying to earn money alittle quicker? And I already commented on the yardwork part. I stated that people around here usually hire "landscapers"(like companies) to do their work for them.

ghost thanks for defending me.

jasper, that is actually an awesome idea. Thanks.

Bah, fine. I'll let my secret out. Buy a used 98c, give it a 21inch barrel, a good camo job, and a scope, sell it on ebay for $700+. Make sure it has a "good" description.

Think that's crazy? I've seen A-5's with that setup sell for $1,000. There have been plenty of threads on it in general, do a search for stupid eBay auctions.

If you're not asking for money, then why do you have a line in your sig asking for contributions through paypal????

If you have a farm or something, set some stuff up for paintball, advertise it and get people to go there. Then charge them just to play on it.

A raffle through here might not be so effective. To have a decent raffle you either have to have a lot of legit feedback or be a mod/agent, or just be well known/trusted. Worth a shot, just letting you know.

bdaniel08
05-19-2004, 01:46 PM
dont raffle off your marker. Raffle of something that anybody would want to buy, especially old people, because they're retired and they buy a lot. Just raffle of a...a... park bench, or a gift certificate to some fancy restuarunt. Do something of that ordeal.

lol

would a online raffle for tank work? like a 68/3k tank, or maybe a dye invision?

AR55 MtM
05-20-2004, 11:37 AM
the dye invision would be your best bet if its in good condition the tank might not work bcuz there could be dents, not in hydro, scratched, etc. etc.
Go for the mask raffle you might get $100 if you ae lucky ;)

Ghost2867
05-20-2004, 03:13 PM
try the tank anyway...

BUT, make sure you've got some online feedback(unless ur a mod of course...;) ), and provide LOTS of pics.

With raffles you also run the risk of not even getting more than you would have if you had just sold it.
