Here are my comments from my review of the VooDoo delrin bolt:

The first thing I noticed when I opened up the package was that the back end of the bolt has the Smart Parts logo, COOL!! As I looked to the front of the bolt I saw the familiar 3 hole venturi design. Like most of the other aftermarket bolts, the VooDoo bolt is made of Delrin. Why does everyone love Delrin?? Two reasons, first no need to lube because it is friction free, which means no o-rings and second it's light, which as we know reduces kick and tends to increase efficiency. When I got the VooDoo bolt next to the stock bolt I noticed something else, it was shorter. Ruff guess it looked to be about 1/4" shorter. When measured it turned out to be 5/16" shorter (good guess on my part!!)

When I put the VooDoo bolt in my Impulse I noticed where the missing 5/16" came into play, the back of the bolt was flush with the back of the Impulse, this means no more bolt to the mask while tucked into those tight spots. Then it was off to the chrono. After some minor adjustments, I saw an increase of almost 40psi over the stock bolt. AWESOME!! Accuracy was maintained and the joys of reduced kick from delrin were still experienced.

Wolvie, Good review! I gotta a couple of questions for you.

1) Are you gonna run with the Voodoo or, will you go back to the bolt you were using prior to the evalution of the VooDoo?

2)Is the Voodoo just another Delrin bolt dressed up in a SmartParts package? Is this an attempt by SmartParts to jump into the aftermarket arena?

3) How is the hole configuration? I know you said it's a 3 hole venturi style, however is it 2 on top or one?

1) Are you gonna run with the Voodoo or, will you go back to the bolt you were using prior to the evalution of the VooDoo? At this time I have 3 different aftermarket bolts that I am testing/comparing. I have not selected 1 over the other at this time. I plan on using them over the next couple weeks and then deciding. So I guess the answer is both yes and no.

2)Is the Voodoo just another Delrin bolt dressed up in a SmartParts package? Is this an attempt by SmartParts to jump into the aftermarket arena? Yes and no. While it does have a Smart Parts logo on the back, Werm bolts were the first to have logos over the hole in the back. Last time I spoke to them, Smart Parts US had no interest in producing a delrin bolt. Seems like SP Europe felt different. I have heard that Smart Parts US might start including the Freak Factory bolt as a standard part but thus far it has not happened.

3) How is the hole configuration? I know you said it's a 3 hole venturi style, however is it 2 on top or one? The VooDoo bolt is the same layout as the stock bolt, that is two holes on top and one on the bottom. To compare, the Werm bolt has one hole on top and two on the bottom.

Hope that helps!!

The JOB has a lot to do with it. My team is sponsored by Warped Sportz. As part of the deal we get a discount on paint but have to order so much per month. I order for the team and then collect the $$ when I hand out the paint. As a team with 11 players on the roster we go through about 12-15 cases a month between practices, BYOP tournaments and just screwin around (testing stuff and playing woodsball).

What are the other 3 bolts?

In performance comparison Werm bolt or Vodoo?

Does the hole configuration make a difference, 1 hole on top vs 2?

What are the other 3 bolts? Werm, VooDoo, and MAXair are being compared to Stock. A little bird told me that there will be a couple more bolts comming my way soon.

In performance comparison Werm bolt or Vodoo? Are you asking me to compare the two?? I plan on it....keep a look out.

Does the hole configuration make a difference, 1 hole on top vs 2? Not sure. Sorry I can not offer a better answer than that, but to truly test that question I would need 2 bolts from the same manufacturer with the different hole pattern. Comparing the Werm to VooDoo would not be a valid test of the hole design because there are potentially other varialbles that could falsly make one look better than the other.
