Forgive my insolence as a "Newbie" offering advice.
Looking through this forum I see more than a few people asking how good the marker they just purchased is.
I think that is going about things the wrong way.
What you should do instead is study the matter in detail and talk to folks about the markers and after you are ready to make a decision... Sleep on it and study the matter again.
Then when you buy the marker - you are satisfied with your choice.
The marker is the most expensive item in paintball - you should approach a new purchase as you would climb a barbwire fence naked... Very Carefully.

your right to a point...it's always nice to hear from someone who has the product and can say good or bad

I agree Ogre, you wouldn't walk onto a car lot and buy a car sight unseen, you test drive it, you research it, you compare it to other cars in that price range ... buying a marker is no different.

However some people (like me sometimes) spend too much time nit-picking details when two or three choices are almost exactly alike. If ur decisions are as close as Spyder TL+ and Pirahna EXT G2, just make up ur damn mind! :)

Exactly, im the worst for making decisions like that though. I constantly find myself deliberating and splitting hairs over such petty stuff. I always hear people tell me that i take too long taking tests, making decisions, and doing other things. But ill tell ya, i really do think that people like me who take more time to contemplate their choices (like a test) will come out far better than the person who always makes snap decisions. Abruptness is just another word for sloppiness in my dictionary. But then again, sometimes prolonging things just turns out being a waste of time. :P

Mad Ogre you are soo right.I have wanted to get into paint ball with my son for a long time before I bought our guns and supplies at christmas. I read just about all the reviews on this site, talked to friends, read forums on other sites, Warpig pages through and through, all before I ordered my guns.I knew what I wanted, I know I got the best price and Im totlly satisfied with my choices.
I think one of the main reasons you see some posts where people buy the guns and then wonder if they made the right choice is because the money was too easy to come by.Lucky little kids spending Mom and Dads money. I had to save up for my gun and really work hard to appease any angry wife. No small job there. Not easy to spend a lot of hard earned money on toys. But I work hard so I play hard too.
As for my two guns, it was a toss up between the Piranha STS G2 and my Spyder Shutter. Both great guns, both highly recomended, both close in price and of basic same design. So with similar choices as antiramie which did I buy? I bought both. The Piranha for my son and the Syder for me. That way I figured I could check them both out to see which one I like the most. Having played with both since christmas I think they are both excellent guns and would recomend them both. They are both all I ecpected, dependable, easy to clean, easy to upgrade, and have a large following of user groups.
