Is the DYE Boomstick ($109.95) worth $25 more than the DYE Stainless ($84.95)? Or can you not tell the difference between them.

COUGH*SAVE UP YOUR MONEY AND BUY A FREAK BARREL SYSTEM*COUGH*COUGH

Boomstick aint really worth the price, since another barrel, of lesser cost, with as good a paint/bore match will shoot the same. You don't get to say you have a boomstick, but that's about it. If you're gonna spend the big bucks on a barrel, go with the freak, otherwise go with something cheaper

I have enough money to get the freak barrel but I heard they are loud. I want a Quiet barrel like the SP All American, but I heard they are not good for LP.

Quiet barrel like the smart parts all american... kinda like the freak that has an adjustable back end, and a front end from a smart parts all american barrel... lol

Ya, are they gas hogs because of all the ports?

I have a smart parts 16" AA, 12" AA teardrop, and a 10" dye alluminum. i really like my dye...it is the quietest of all, and it holds nice tight patterns. one of my friends has one for the same gun, and they both are great. the boomstick is a little better, but heaver. i have heard good things about the freek and bad, but never fired one. i would say go with a dye alluminum if you want a good barrel for your money.

That gas hog stuff I know for a fact isnt an issue with intimidators at least, so I'd imagine wouldnt be one with other guns. One of the guys I talked to, got the same amount of shots off his intimidator using a freak set, as I did with mine, and we both ran at the same pressure, so I think it should be fine. I also got a chance to fire his gun, and with that barrel kit It'd be easy to nail a corner of a hopper sticking up at long distance. The barrel could almost stack paintballs at 100 feet, so it just doesnt get any better, definately give it some thought :)

Is it hard keeping the inserts in good condition?

Not really, they dont stand up to much abuse, but they should be in either your hard case with foam, or your barrel, so the potential for damaging them is so slim, that you shouldnt have any problems ever. If you fudge up and sit on one, or try and take it out of your barrel with a fork or something, you'd probably do some damage, but under normal use, they shouldnt ever get damaged
