im thinking about either the DYE MATRIX LCD or Angel Speed.

Angel...I've loved Angels since they came out and they will remain at the top of my list until someone can indefinatly make something better (so far, nobody has, with the possible exception of the X-Mag).

Speeds don't have "eyes," so to speak, but it does have a nice antichop system: Sensi. If you set it up properly, which means shoot it eight or so shots when you turn it on, Sensi works just as fine as the Trix's breakbeam eyes do. I think you should base your decision on whether gun feels the best to you, or simply looks the best. Good luck.

I actually like the way trix's look, nice simple milling.

The breakbeam will always be better than the sensi. It can snse any paint.

Sensi has been flawless to me. Eyes can be covered with paint goo, rendering them useless.

Actually, any eyes worth their salt will see right through paint, the benchmark being evil yellowpaint, which is horribly thick. This was one of the goals in developing eyes for the spyder.
I believe the problem with sensi tends to be with higher ROF than it is calibrated for with the HALO, the gun with move the bolt prematurely, as it expects a ball to be there (and it would be if HALO springs didn't wind down during strings).
This can create chops, but mostly occurs if you shoot faster than you did to calibrate it.
I'm not sure how much of that is accurate, but I'm pretty sure the sensi logic is neither latched nor continuous.

Halo + sensi = bad combo, you may end up breaking your Sensi system alltogether and then you have no form of anti chopping at all. Matrices work great with Halos, (just saying halo in this instance since it seems to be the most popular loader out there).
Either way, Breakbeam > Sensi. No tuning, No modes, just turn it on and Rip.

Halo + Sensi works just fine for me and just about everyone on my field (about 5 separate Speeds).
Although Matricies are indeed very nice markers.

IIRC the problem really only occurs between 18-22 bps. the HALO spring winds down to 18bps or so.
If you aren't crazygonuts on the trigger, you're fine, and sensi will work just fine.

its called a viking.
and if you set up your trix right, do you even need eyes?

Trix is much better in the eye department, but thats not to say Angels suck. I've always loved em but they have almost been completely replaced by timmies.
Every eye should be break beam for now on. TAKE NOTE MARKER DEVELOPERS!

well why would you needs eyes for a matrix anyways?
anyways, i used a matrix today that had eyes. the eyes are better then sensi imo. but then again i never really chop with my speed.

I think by now that, based on all the replies, its easy to see that this matchup is 100% based on PERSONAL PREFERENCE. Some people like Sensi, some people like breakbeams. Apparently, the majority favors breakbeams. That does NOT mean they are better. It could, but it doesnt guarantee it. Its like the Freak vs. Pipe. Likely, more people will say the freak is better, but that doesnt mean it really is better. It could mean it is better though, based on what you think. Besides... both guns are so rediculously low pressure that its very unlikely you will break a ball with both guns, even without eyes.
