Viewloader Genesis Barrel Question

I'm new to paintball and I purchased a Viewloader Genesis which I like. It works well and is easy to maintain. I got a new barrel for it a Dye Stainless and I was told Spyder barrels would fit. It does screw in but there is a gap between the barrel and the gun and it is tightened completely. It shoots great and does not break paint, but the gap is ugly. Is this normal? The stock barrel is visibly shorter after the treads. Any help would be appreciated.

Just carefully saw off the end few threads and file it smooth, that should do the trick, I helped my friend do it with his genesis.
